Harry was expelled from the only college we have in Tailor City. He was expelled because that was the last chance and Jake blew it for Harry.
Harry and his mom moved away; to a city where it’s memories couldn’t haunt them.
Harry and I didn’t keep in touch. Our love burned so brightly on its short path, but all things will fade and die. We were too good for each other, at the wrong time. You can’t fix a broken person with a relationship. They have to fix themselves. I could show Harry one billion times how to be fixed; to be renewed. But I could never do it for him. He had to figure that out himself. And maybe when we’re through college, we can be together again. We just couldn’t keep trying to grow fruit out of a dead tree.
I didn’t need to worry that he would end up dead; I knew he would live through anything. He lived through a hell of a childhood, and he lived through the small hell Jake put us through, and he will live through all the many different versions of hell life will give him.
We will both live until the day we can go through hell together.
You just can’t help someone else get through if you don’t know how yourself.
We will figure it out. We always will.
