Your phone rang 45 minutes before Jonathan was picking you up, " Hello?" You said softly down the phone.
" Cassie it's Steve, I need you to skive school today it's important " Steve said down the phone as you frowned your eyebrows as he never would as you to skip school only if it was serious.
" Why what's happening?" You said in a quick panicked tone.
" Dustin has this slug pet thing and it's grew into some dog thing, we think it's from the upside down " he said as you felt your body to tense up.
" Steve who knows about this" You said as he sighed down the phone to you.
" look me and Nancy aren't on the best terms right now, I just need you to come and help . We have a plan to capture it " Steve said to you as you debated on the idea.
" Pick me up in half an hour to make it look like to Hopper I'm going to school, I'll ring Jonathan and tell him not to pick me up" you said to Steve as you hung up.
You quickly rang up Jonathan to tell him that you weren't going to school, and got dressed. Ever since last year Hopper have you a small pocket knife to look after yourself. You hoped that you wouldn't ever have to use it again but seems like now you had to, you tucked it in your belt and under your top as you grabbed some breakfast and waited for Steve to pick you up.

You waited for what felt like forever looking out of your window waiting to see Steve's car, it finally appeared zooming down the road with him and Dustin day inside.
" Bey hop, I'll see you after school " you said to your uncle Hopper as you ran out the door and down the steps into Steve's car.
" Okay So what now?" You asked them as you hopped into the bat peeping your face in between the two front seats.
" So Dustin found this wired slug thing -" Steve started but getting quickly cut off by Dustin.
" His name was dart, and then he shedded his skin a few times and eat my cat" He said as you gasped at what he had just told you.
" You're cat?! He ate your cat....." you said in a loud voice, with your voice going a bit more higher pitch than usual on the second time you said the word cat.
" Look this is my mess" Dustin said getting serious, " Everyone told me to get rid of it but I kept it and now this has happened, my mom won't stop searching for muels and truthfully I have no idea what to do" he said as you stayed silent and landed your eyes onto Steve hoping he would say something.
" look , " Steve said giving a short sigh and whispering what sounded like "shit" or "shite" under his breath, " we will sort this out " he said.
" Okay so this dog thing, like how are we going to capture it and then what are we going to do once we have captured it, like Steve not trying to rain on your parade but do you seriously think your bat is gunna kill one of those things?" You said in the back your face now between Dustin and Steve.
" Cassie my bat has nails in it making it a weapon " Steve said getting defensive.
" Yeah mabey towards a human " you said frowning your eyebrows. Steve's car came to a stop and you all three stepped out of the car, youse walked down a trail what eventually lead to an open field where some old cars where.
Youse all stopped in your tracks when Steve started nodding his head, " yeah this will do...this will do," he said as you frowned your brows and looked at him.
" Will do for what?" you asked as now Dustin looked up at Steve and frowned his brows.
" you didn't tell her did you?" Dustin said as you now started to feel tense.
" Tell me what?" You said now looking at Steve with a serious face.
" so we're gunna try and lead that Dog thing out to here where we will hide from it and then try and yano kill it or capture it" you said the full time shaking your head.
" you Jackass " you said hitting his arm, " I can't believe you didn't tell me" you said as he looked at you trying at act all innocent.
" what so you're gunna leave?" Steve said pouting his lips a little.
" I can't now can I? There's a lose dog thing from the upside down. Hell no am I going to risk being alone now " you said.
You, Steve and Dustin started to set up the area chucking raw meat into piles around a few moments later Lucas and this red-headed girl came on bikes, they were obviously here to help out I assumed.
Time passed and we were done setting up, we all sat and waited in the school bus as the light night started to fade and night came in. The red-headed girl sat down next to me and gave me a smile, " I'm max " she said as I smiled back to her.
" I'm Cassie " you said to her as she smiled awkwardly " yeah I know" she said.
I laughed it off casually , " how do you already know?" You said now a bit curious.
" my older brother mentioned you a night a go or two, said he was going to study with a girl named Cassie who lived down the next road" she said as your frowned your eyebrows.
" you live down the next road? Like he never told me where he lived I just never knew it was that close to where I lived " you said.
Our conversation was cut off by Steve leaving the bus, my head turned to him. " what are you doing?" I said as Dustin shushed me.
" it's here " he said , we all rushed to the window and watched Steve stand infront of the pile of raw meat waving his bat around.
" he's insane " max said
" he's awesome " Dustin said with a large grin planted onto his face.
" Steve 3 o'clock " Lucas shouted from the top of the school bus.
" I'm a little busy right now " Steve shouted back at him, counting to wave his bat and try and lead the dog to the bait.
" STEVE WATCH OUT " Lucas shouted as another dog from behind tried attacking Steve, for somehow he managed to survive that unharmed. Dustin ran to the door opening it as we all shouted Steve to get back as he hit off the dogs what tried to attack him while making his way back to the bus, once he was in we quickly slammed the door placing a slant of metal over it.
" They can't get in can they?!" I said gasping for air from how scared I was.
" No " Steve said and as soon after he said that the dog managed to do damage to the door. I noticed max looking up to the roof of the bus as I looked up too as we both noticed that one of them dogs were now on the roof and there was an opening. It's disgusting face soon came into view as Steve came over with his bat about to attack it when suddenly it stopped and looked in the other direction. It paused for a second or two and then they all ran off there barks getting quieter the more we waited.
