The sky is all shades outside.
I'm laid across the bed
Wearing nothing but his robe.
I let his scent marinate
Deep into my restless soul;
He smells of coffee
And the Earth after it rains.
I feel a brief disconnection
From everything around and
Within me
But I don't care,
Not with the orgasmic riff
And unhurried but purposeful pitch
Of the singer's voice
Running like honey
Through my veins.
I am enraptured by the
Highs and lows
And twists and turns
Till all my fears and doubts
Slowly dissolve
In the sublime tunes.
Everything is peaceful,
Perfect, beautiful,
And in what seems like
The first time in forever,
I feel at ease with my self.
