Sick Mind

Chapter Seven

I woke up to find that I was alone in the motel room. I rushed outside to find Amelia and Taco waiting for me in the car. She stuck her hand out of the window and waved the papers in the air.

"You coming?" she hollered.

"Were?" I hollered back.

"To find the biologicals!" she said as she cupped her hands for more volume.

I rolled my eyes and shut the door. Seconds later, I heard her banging at the door. I slightly opened it but before I could say anything she grabbed it and swung it open.

"What are you doing?" She asked rather demanding. "I didn't come all this way just so you could quit."

"Oh? and why did you come?"

"Because you need help, human help. Whether you like it or not, I'm going to help you. Now come on, we must do the work of Him who sent me."

She turned and walked back to car, leaving me standing in the doorway at a loss for words. I followed her with the one sentence repeating in my head. 

"We must do the work of Him who sent me."

Who is 'Him'? What kind of person says something like that?

She handed me the papers."Your parents told me who your biological parents were. They told me it would be best to stay away but you need answers, right? Anyway, I printed off a map to the house this morning."

"How did you find where they live?!"

"It's not important. What's important is finding them so that you can..."

"Why are you obsessing over this? I mean, it's like you're on some kind of secret mission or something."

She kept driving without saying anything.

"I'm sorry, I should be thanking you."

I caught her eyes glance over at me. "There's no need to thank me, I've been given a chance to prevent what happened to my dad years ago. I am on a mission, a mission to help you. I'm just not sure how I'm going to yet."

"What do you mean?"

"I have to have faith that the solution will come to me when it is time." 

We sat in silence yet again. This time, however; it was a peaceful quite, a moment of complete understanding.
