The ride through Space is a bit boring and a little tense. Loki being on the ship isn't helping, but so far no funny business has occurred. In all honesty, the god of mischief actually wants to prove himself to the group that he can be trustworthy.
To break the tension, Peter Parker and Groot sit in front of a screen and verse each other in video games. Drax tried to play with them but couldn't figure out the controls, so he quit. Gamora also played with them, but she was too good so Peter and Groot kicked her off the console.
"Where'd you say the coordinates were, Robo Girl?" Quill slows down the ship, knowing that they are getting closer to their destination.
Nebula turns to the Peter who spoke and glares at him. "Don't call me that. And we are almost there. Just around this bend and..."
Around the bend, the planet Knowhere rests just as it always has, except this time there's something off. No one can tell what it actually is, but something isn't right here. It's almost as if Thanos is using the Reality Stone to make them see something odd, but they know that can't be it.
Mantis stands up and puts her hand on the front window of the ship. "The planet. Everyone is panicking!"
"Quill, quickly land the ship!" Gamora orders and she straps herself into a seat. She makes her silver sword grow to its full length and Nebula does the same. Peter Parker turns off the video game, and pushes Groot into a seat before strapping in himself.
"Is this planet's air breathable?!" Peter asks the Guardians.
Loki holds onto the back of the teenage human's seat and looks out the window in interest. "Yes it is. This is Knowhere, where the Collector lives!"
"You're bringing up that hooligan again?!" Rocket grumbles and loads up a giant gun. "What I would do to forget that day with the Power Stone..."
"I am Groot." Groot nods and agrees with his father figure. He doesn't remember the day in question, but he's heard Rocket talk about it so much, that he might as well been there himself.
Quill lands the Benetar and the doors open up to let the Guardians out. Right when Peter Parker steps on the foreign soil, a Knowhere citizen runs into him. They both fall over and Peter helps him up. "Are you alright?"
Without responding, the citizen sprints away. The atmosphere of the entire planet is filled with chaos. People run around, not having a destination in mind other than to get away. The Guardians, Loki, and Peter can't see anything wrong however, and they start to wonder if the entire planet has lost their minds.
"We thought you all were chained up at home! Finally decided to join the party?" The group turns around quickly, but sigh in relief when they see Kraglin and the rest of the Ravagers.
"Hey, Big 'K'!" Quill raises his hand for a high five, but Kraglin refuses because of the nickname. Quill slowly drops his hand to his side and continues, "Can you tell us what's going on here?"
"Yeah, man, it looks like the apocalypse! We already went though one, so I think I'd know what it looks like." Rocket props his gun up on his shoulder and Kraglin chuckles, remembering how it was when half of the universe was gone.
"Get ready to go through another one, then. See right behind you? That's Galactus." Kraglin points behind the group and everyone slowly turns around.
Up in the sky is the biggest being most of them have ever seen, as Loki is having trouble deciding if Galactus or Surtr is bigger. Galactus' head is the size of a planet, and the Guardians can't see his legs because he's so tall. His head has a tall, purple helmet on that represents a 'Y' shape. His clothes are the same colour purple as his helmet with a light blue letter 'G' on his chest. His eyes are icy blue and void of emotion.
Out of Galactus' back, many long, silver tubes emerge and land of different spots of the planet. A couple seconds later, the ground rumbles and everyone loses their balance.
"What is he doing?!" Gamora yells to make up for the loud crashing of the rubble and buildings falling down.
"I am Groot!" Groot falls and lands on his handheld video game. The game's screen breaks and the music stops.
"He's eating the planet!" Kraglin stumbles as he stands up. He pulls back the side of his Ravager jacket and sets his teeth.
Quill almost starts crying when he hears Kraglin's whistle. It sounds so much like Yondu's. He pulls out his blasters and puts his mask on. Gamora and Nebula hold their swords out in front of each other, and stand side by side. Loki pulls out two long daggers and smirks. Drax grabs his two swords and swings them around expertly. Mantis stays in the back, but gets ready to fight if needed. Rocket charges his gun and Groot makes stronger branches on his fingers. Peter Parker's mask forms over his head, completing the Iron Spider uniform.
Somehow, someway, they are going to get through this. They must do their part, and hope that the Avengers do theirs back on Earth.
