"Was it worth it to save your friends, sweetheart?"
Hands and throat locked tight with chains....
"Of course it was." Cobalt growled. "Anything to get them away from a monster like you."
...and helpless beneath your enemy.
The captain laughed, "You didn't save all of 'em. Just look at your buddy here."
He walked over to you, who was chained in the same condition as Cobalt. He suddenly kicked your leg, causing pain to shoot up your spine.
"Stop it now!" Cobalt opened his mouth, baring his fangs at the man standing above him.
Their stares locked. The captain grinned and bent down to him.
"Sixty lashes," the captain said softly. "One for every man you killed on my crew."
Cobalt's face dropped. "...You can't be serious."
"Oh I am." He stood back up and turned to look the other way.
"The remaining members already set up a stake."
"Sixty could...k-kill someone," He started to quiver, causing the chains to make an eerie clanking noise.
"That's exactly why I'm doing it. If you survive, I'll let you live. And if not...well...you'll be taken care of."
Cobalt looked down at the ground submissively, accepting his fate.
