Chapter 5

Rachel POV

I entered my office in anger. My father and my brother were getting on my nerves.

My secretary Stella was siiting on her desk busy with work and didn't notice me entering the office.

"Goodmorning Stella! Please give me my schedule for today" I said.

Oh! Ms. Williams, Goodmorning! I certainly will bring your schedule" she said.

Stella was one of the most effecient secretaries. When I joined the company last year she taught me how to manage the stuff. I still am young and understanding the nitty gritty of the business world. Now I can manage things on my own so both my dad and mom are proud of me.

The thought of my dad brought back the memory of what happened in the morning. GOD!! I should better focus on my work and deal with this thing later. Stella knocked at my door and entered carrying a cup of coffee and few files.

"Ms. Williams, here is your schedule and these are few files for you to look at and sign". She said.

"Okay, thanks for the coffee Stella. I really needed it" i said.

She smiled back in return and said "I am going back to my station, call me in case you need anything"

"Sure, Thanks!" I said

I drowned myself in work reading files that were pending for signature. I had no time to think about Markos.

I was reading one particular file which stated that there was another company looking out to buy shares in our company.

Wait! Why didn't Alex tell me about it.

I quickly got up and went to Alex's cabin. I knocked at his door and waited for him to answer.

"Come in" he said.

"Alex care to explain this?" I said storming into his office throwing the file on his desk.

He picked up the file from his table and looked at it. He closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose and said "I was about to discuss this matter with you but something or the other kept me busy. Come sit and let me explain the whole scenario".

He then explained that the company is need of funds as it has suffered a major loss in the previous quarter. The financials of the company was not strong as our clients were looking out at our rival company.

"But why can't we take a loan or credit?" I asked.

"I told you the reputation is not that good in the market. Our company's ratings have rocketed down. Nobody is ready to lend the money" he explained.

"Oh no, do we have any other option?" I asked.

"No sis we will have to sell few shares of our company. We are even lucky that someone will buy the share at the price we are demanding". He said.

"Okay! So which company is buying?" I asked.

"Russo enterprises" he said.

"Have you done a background check of that company" I asked.

"Yes I have checked on the company and looks good to me. Russo's are famous in Italy. They also have lots of investments in other american organisations." He said.

"Okay" i said

I got up and started walking towards the door.

"The Russo guy and one of his partner is coming to meet us in few hours and I want you to join the meeting" Alex said.

"When?" I asked.

"In two hours. Make yourself free for this meeting Rach. I need your opinion as well" he said.

"Okay. Will see you later then" i said while walking out of the office.

Now I was curious to meet this Russo guy. I hope he turns out good for the company and we are taking a right decision.
