Chapter 4

Rachel POV

After leaving our house we headed towards Alex's car. I hopped into the car. I was still in a daze by the outcome of morning events. I fail to understand why my father suddenly turned against Andriano Family. All those memories flooded my mind.

Markos was my best friend!! There wasn't a single day I didn't meet him. We always used to hang out ALL THE TIME!!!.

Flashback

I first met Markos when I was six years old and he was nine. I still remember I was getting bullied by a fat guy and he wasn't leeting me have my lunch. He grabbed my lunch box and started eating from it. I was now crying silently and saw a guy coming towards our direction. He looked at me with his green eyes and turned towards the fat boy and punched him hard. He fell on the floor and all the contents from my lunch box spilled on the ground.

The fat guy got up and ran away from him, leaving him amd me alone. I was still crying. He turned towards me and brushed tears off my face. I looked at him and didn't say anything. He decided to break the silence and said "Hey stop crying. I don't like it when people cry". He held my hand while saying this.

I stopped crying and said" I am sorry"

"Don't be stupid" he said "Are you hungry?"

I nodded.

He took out his lunch and said "You can eat from my lunch"

I shook my head in a no and said "No I can't have your lunch. What will you eat"

He thought for a moment and said "Okay we both will share it. Now come lets sit on that bench and have our lunch"

He tugged at my hand and dragged me to the nearby bench leaving no room for an arguement. I meekly followed him and spent my lunch break with him.

From that day we became best of friends. Though he was my senior and we we studying in different classes but we used to catch up after every class and hang out together during lunch break. He used to come to my house and hangout since Alex and him were also friends and in the same grade.

They both were really possessive about me and never allowed any guy near me. Nobody used to trouble me as they were bad boys of the school.

Flashback ends

"Hellllooo!!!!Hey shorty we have reached. Where are you lost in your thoughts" Alex said.

"Hmm..oh yeah! I am sorry I was thinking about something" I said.

He raised one of his eyebrows and said "Do share little sister"

"Uh..um nothing much. Alex why does dad hate Markos's family so much?" I asked.

He shrugged his shoulder and shifted in his seat. "I don't know Rach. But I know one thing Dad is right in saying that we have to maintain distance from him and his family. Rach you will not meet him. You got that?".

"But why????" I whined like a child.

"Stop acting like a child" he snapped.

"Why Alex? Do you know something about it?" I questioned him.

He turned away his head in the other direction and said "All I can tell you at this moment is that Markos and his family are bad news for us. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!".

"Why are you and dad hiding things from me?" I asked.

"Rach please don't make it hard for us. We will tell you everything when the time is right." He said.

"The time is right Alex" I complained.

"Rach please trust me and dad in this. We are only trying to protect you" He said trying to make me understand. But I was not taking any of this shit. I mean I deserve to know whats going on if it involves my freaking best friend.

"I am freaking 21 and I can protect myself" I shouted at him. I was soo angry.

I got out of the car and slammed the door shut. I could feel my brother cringing as I was harming his baby.

I smiled to myself. Serves him right!!!

Oh how much I miss Markos. I so much want to meet him. I want to know what happened all of a sudden. God! It is so frustrating. Guess I will have to do something myself. I am going to find out what happened 9 years ago that created walls between our families.

I will meet Markos and clear things with him.
