Chapter 9

Rachel POV

What does he think of himself? He is acting all high and mighty. He was never like this. This is not Markos. He has changed. The Markos I knew was loving and caring. What the hell happened to him. He was about to hit me! Why is he doing all this? Why is he destroying my dad? What has my dad done to turn him into something so evil? I wanted to know.

I am too tired and I need to focus on work. There was still lot of work pending. I need a coffee so that I can forget what all happened. I went to cafeteria to get myself a cup of coffee.

I was stting at the table and having coffee while reading newspaper. I was so engrossed in my thoughts that I didn't notice someone coming over to my table.

I looked up and saw Colton standing across me. I smiled when I saw him. He was in technical department and my closest friend in office. We went to the same university.

"Hey Rach! What up?" He said.

"Hi Colton. Nothing much, came here to have a cup of coffee. So hows your day coming along?" I asked.

"Baddd! This new boss is an ass. He seems to have problem with everything! He has been barking orders non-stop since morning" Colton said.

I felt bad when he called Markos an ass. Wait! Rachel be rational. He isn't the same Markos. You shouldn't have any feeling for him. You should hate him for what he is doing to you and your family. Just then I saw Jessica coming upto us. She was distressed and it seems like she cried because her eyes were red and puffy.

Hey Jessica is everything alright?" Colton asked.

"I hate this new boss. What does he think of himself. He shouted on me for dropping a file on the floor and threatened to fire me. God help me or I will kill him. He is a sadist!" She said.

I was shocked. He can't treat people like he owns them. Now I was pissed.

"Jess relax and please get a hold on yourself. Here take some water and sit down" I said while handing her a glass of water.

"Oh Rach you don't know! He called me a clumsy bimbo. He called me dumb and stupid. He deserves to die and rot in hell!" Jessica said while crying.

I shut my eyes trying to control my temper. How could he be so mean saying these horrendous things to a girl. How can he insult a girl like that.

"What?? See I told you Rachel. He is an ass! Hey Jess you calm down. There is no need to think of all the things that he said. Don't worry! Just stop crying okay?" Colton said.

"Yeah Jess, he is a mean guy. Leave it." I said while rubbing her back to calm her down.

She stopped crying after sometime and we all went to our cabins. While on my way I bumped into someone. When I looked up I was shocked! Markos!.

I looked upto him and he was looking at me intensely.

"Are you done with your break?" He snorted.

I was shocked to know that he saw me in cafeteria. I ignored him and moved towards the lift. He also turned around and followed me towards the elevator.

"I asked you something." He said as he held my wrist and stopped me from getting on to the elevator.

"I dont want to answer any of your question" I said trying to free my wrist from his hold. His grip tightened at my wrist causing pain.

"Leave me Markos! You are hurting me." I said.

He immediately left my wrist. WAIT!! Did I see concern in his eyes. NO rachel stop it. Stop yoyr wavering thoughts. He is a beast. He can't be concerned about me.

We both got into the lift. I presses 30th floor and he pressed 35th floor. We waited for the doors to close and when the elevator doors closed he pressed the stop button at 15th floor.

"What the hell are you doing?" I shouted angrily.

"What the hell do you think?" He said coming towards me. He trapped me with his both hands on each side of me and got closer till our faces were just inces apart.

"You should focus more on work rather than gossiping in cafeteria. I dont like my employees fooling around in my office." Marlos said.

"I was on a 15 minute coffee break Mr. Andriano. I hope its not a problen since I didn't have a lunch break. Now if you can please start the lift again. I have to get back to work." I said.

"Why didn't you have your lunch?" He asked me. I could see he was controlling his anger.

"Its none of your concern." I said.

"It is my concern. You know you get sick if you dont eat properly." He said getting mad.

"Oh please Mr. Andriano I think this is my personal life and I like to keep my personal life personal." I said getting pissed.

"Cut the crap Rachel, you must eat. Now come lets take you to cafeteria." He said.

"Leave me alone Mr. Andriano" i sighed.

"Call me Markos princess!" He said.

"Dont call me that" I said

"Princess please let me explain you everything. Don't look at me like that Rach.Don't hate me Princess." He said gently holdong my hands in his.

I looked in his eyes. He was the same Markos that was my best friend. But then I realised what he did to Jess and Colton. I pulled my hands away from his and broke the eye contact.

"You have changed Markos. You are not my Markos" i said. Tears were welling up my eyes.

"Princess I am the same Markos! Your Markos! Oh god Princess stop crying. I hate it when you cry pretty baby." He said and hugged me tight. I couldn't help but hug him back. I cried my heart out on his shoulder.

"Then why are you doing all this Markos.?" I asked in between the sobs.

I noticed him getting stiff. His arms tightened around me. He was quiet for few seconds and then replied.

"Princess you need to stop crying and eat something or you will get sick." He said while rubbing my back.

He started the lift and took me to his floor. I was too tired to protest. I also wanted to know why he did all this. I know it will be difficult to get it out of him but I should try nevertheless.
