Geudaega neomu bogo sipeo'A Summer Night's Dream is quietly playing on the cafe speakers as I walk in. I love this song.
Soon after I enter the cafe, the manager approaches me, grasping my attention, before speaking. "The new employee will visit later today, even though his training is tomorrow. He will be spectating everyone's work, in order to gain an understanding of how our cafe works. Please be on your best behavior."
"Yes, Sir," I acknowledge.
I worked as diligently as I could, knowing that the new employee could walk in at any time.
My shift begins at 11:30am and ends at 7:30pm, which is when our shop closes, every day except for Mondays. Therefore, I actually have one of the longest shifts out of all of the staff members.
At around 2pm I heard the bell ring, indicating that the door had been opened. I looked up, wondering if it could be the trainee, but I did not expect to see Min Yoongi.
Could he be the new employee?
I walk up to him after he takes a seat. "You wouldn't happen to be the new trainee, would you?" I ask Yoongi quietly.
"Nope, why?" He replies.
Well damn.
"Ah... It's just that the new employee is supposed to be here sometime soon, and I don't know who he is, other than that he is, in fact, a he," I attempt to explain as well as I can.
"Alright, sorry to get your hopes up," he remarks with a wink.
"How did you know I work here?" I ask.
"I didn't. I never even knew this place existed until today when my friend suggested it to me," he states with a shrug.
"Anyway," I pause, regaining my composure as a waitress. "What would you like to order?"
"Your phone number."
"What?"
"Your phone number. We never exchanged digits," he continues.
"Oh, yeah," I blush, writing my phone number onto a piece of paper.
"I'll text you later, since you're at work now," he says, sliding the paper into his pocket.
"Okay, thanks."
"Also, I'd like whatever you like best on the menu. I've never been here before," he gives his order.
"Okay then," I write my preference onto a paper, walking away to give it to the chef.
As soon as I turn around, another person walks in, this time heading straight to the staff room. He must be the new employee.
He's fairly attractive, but not the type of attractive that I like. The other female employees seem to like him, though, considering that they're literally swooning over him already.
I soon see that Yoongi's order is ready. I carry the plate to his table, placing it in front of him.
"The omelettes are really good here," I inform, smiling.
"Thanks," he smiles back, his gums visible.
Cute.
"Wow, thanks," he winks.
"Did I say that out loud?" I whisper, shocked.
"Yep," he chuckles.
"Enjoy," I whisper shyly as I cover my blushing face with my hands and try to walk off.
