Downtown Los Angeles, in a target store. She was taking in the size of her soon to be opponents. She had the senses of a clumsy clown, yet she found a thrill in being bad. It wasn't just about being bad for Jordan, she was seventeen and had the pressure of feeding her family on her shoulders. Jordan's Father had left her mother while she was pregnant and in seventeen years she still didn't know who her father was. Her mom went on to remarry, and gave birth to a pair of twin girls. Like Jordan's father, her new step father walked out on Jordan's mother as well, as soon as she announced she was pregnant. Her mom had an odd way picking guys. She wanted the handsome toy boy, with out a job who would give her all his attention while they both sat at home and waiting on the food stamps to arrive. That was the life her mom wanted to life and she was determined to let Jordan and her two younger sisters learned the same ways. She didn't care for her kids, leaving Jordan to play mom from a young age. She started hanging out wherever she could make a couple of dollars in order to feed the little ones.
Which is brings us to why Jordan was now casing out the Target store downtown. She needed money, and school supplies , and a lot of food to make sure the little ones didn't go hungry or experience the hardships caused by their mother's selfishness. She pictured herself as a roaring lion, looking at her prey with hunger in her eyes. Watching them carefully , making sure to blend in. She watched and took in their movements , getting ready to strike at her prey when they are isolated and at their weakest. She knew she what would happened if she were to be caught. She was seventeen already, they would send her to trial, and let her be sentenced as an adult. She thought about all these things, she knew if she went away her sisters would be put into the system and she may never see them again. Her mother was in no frame of mind to start acting like parent. Yet, Jordan also knew if she didn't go home with food to put on the table , her little sisters would realize that Jordan merely created a happy facade around the two of them in order to protect them.
She carefully walked around the store, she made her way to the tin can section. She looked around, scanning the are for staff and possible that may pick her up. She was alone, the camera was no where In sight, she started carefully and slyly picking cans and placing then in her over sized jacket. She zipped up, making sure nothing would fall out and cause a scene. She had enough to feed the girls for two days. She was ready to walk out unnoticed when she realize she didn't have any money to pay the heating bill. She turned around and walked back , people were beginning to notice the teen. She walked around , just browsing random items. She was thinking about if she really had it in her to rob the cashier.
' Hey excuse me ma'am, you look a little lost can I help you with anything? ' , a tiny voice muttered.
Jordan jumped up causing the cans to fall out her jacket, she wasn't paying attention to her surrounding anymore. Instead she was a having an internal debate with her , about whether or not to go through with her plan of getting cash.
' It's not what it looks like I swear, I was going to pay for these They were too much to carry ad I forget to get a basket. I swear. ' , Jordan pleaded.
The little voice that spooked Jordan was in fact a security officer of the store, after pleading her case Jordan had realized that she couldn't talk her out of this one. She looked at the petite woman in front of her and just had realized the security company. Jordan put the rest of the cans and apologized and started walking out, when the security officer , grabbed both her hands, and cuffed her. She was escorted to the back of the door , while the little woman in front of her had signaled for the police. Jordan's face begin to change color, her eyes began to swell , and her chest began to tighten up and it became harder for her to breathe. She put her head between her legs and realized that she had just ruined not only her life , but the life of her sisters as well.
