Nathaniel, Nate as he likes to be called, had recently moved back to his old town. He never stayed in one place long, but now that he was seventeen, his mother was willing to let him stay by himself.  He chose the town that meant the most to him, Elk Town. It was where he met his first love. They met every day at the same park, same tree, same game.

I walked into my new school, Elk High, immediately drawing everyone's attention to me. It was nothing new to me,  mother said I was rather attractive and charming. One short boy walked over to me, tapped my shoulder and said, "Tag, you're it."

Milo pov

I saw him walk into school, handsome as he was eight years ago. Tall, mocha skin, hair dyed green, an ever-present smile resting on his lips. He seemed unfazed by everyone's eyes on him, he continued on like it was nothing new to him. There he was. After all these years, he stood there.

I didn't know what to do. I couldn't comprehend that he was here. He was back. I unknowingly reverted back to what I was familiar with. What I did on routine when I saw him. I poked his shoulder and said something I never thought I would say again "Tag, you're it"

His smile got bigger, he started to full-on grin. It was beautiful, his whole face seemed to glow.

"Milo! I thought I'd never see you again!" He all but yelled picking me up and spinning me around like he did when we were kids. He liked to show off his tiny muscles, but they weren't so tiny anymore.

"Milo?" he set me down. I smiled at him.

"Yes, Nate?"

"Damn you got hot." Well, that was unexpected. How do I reply to that?

"Oh, um, thank you?" he looked around, and I copied him. The entire student body was staring at us. No wonder, the new guy just marched in, picked up the nerd, spun him around then called him hot.

"Milo. Anyone home? You're spacing out on me buddy." There he goes again. When we were younger I would space out a lot, so every time he would ask if 'anyone was home.'

Then it hit me. The love of my life was at my school. Nate was at my school!

"Oh my god! Nate! You came back! I thought you weren't ever coming back!" I shout before hugging him as hard as I could. I missed him, I missed my best friend. I smiled into his chest.

"Dude, what is you're scheduling? I want to have every single class with you." He said with a bright smile pulling his cheeks. I nodded, grabbing his hand.

"Come on, let's go," I mumble, pulling him to the office.

I missed you, you know," Nate whispered in my ear. I was currently sitting on his lap eating lunch. We had gotten his schedule changed to match mine completely. Luckily my brother was the principle. He was the one that would drive me halfway across town to see the boy I was in love with every day. I guess I didn't know that until now. But then Nate left. One day he stopped coming. He told me he moved a lot so I knew it was bound to happen, but I still cried. I still missed my best friend. But now he's here. Now he is back for good and doesn't plan on moving.

We had gotten weird looks all day, but Nate would grab my hand and squeeze it. Just like he did when we were kids. When he would grab my hand and help me talk to the ice-cream woman.

"Milo?"

"Yes, Nate?" I turned around to look at him.

"I'm still in love with you." He's still in love with me. He loves me. He still loves me. As in love.

"Milo?" He grabbed my hand slowly.

"Do you love me?" Nate was asking the easiest question in the universe. Of course, I loved him. I never stopped loving him!

"Yes! Yes of course I do!" I wrapped my arms around him, even if it was a weird angle. I haven't hugged him in eight years. I forgot the peace that would wash over me.

"God I love you..."
