Very little is known about The Host, including if he was ever supposed to be anything more than a joke. Known for his beige coat, the blond streak in his hair and the bloody cloth that covers his eyes. He's a radio show host, and dictates the lives of others, being known to speak about himself in the third person.

However... you can't make sense of the Host without...

Who is The Author?

The Author is, exactly as he sounds, an author

The Author is, exactly as he sounds, an author. What he writes comes true, and he's often kind of an asshole about it. A bit of a prankster and also shown to be violent, the Author is well aware that the subjects of his stories are real people and couldn't care less about them. He's also shown to have a temper, and is prone to outbursts when he doesn't have complete control. There doesn't seem to be anything particularly notable about his appearance, just being a Mark duplicate.

The Author becomes The Host.

His Origin and Appearances

We start with The Author, where the story naturally starts. His first appearance was in, "Danger in Fiction [feat. Markiplier]" posted to Cyndago, on Feb 6, 2013. Appearance is in italics because we never actually see the character in this video, we merely hear him as he narrates, crafting his story as he goes. His next appearance and the first time we actually see the character is in the sequel (also on Cyndago), "Danger in Fiction | Chapter II". During this video we see The Author strike his subject in the head with a bat and then hold him captive in a shed.
