Rewriting this was actually a little difficult because I had to think back to nearly six years ago when I got my braces off lol

A swirl of giddy emotions coursed through you as you walked up to the Hybe building to meet with your boyfriend. The both of you had made plans to meet up for lunch after his dance practice and it just so happened that you'd gotten your braces removed that day, your appointment coincidentally scheduled for the same time as his practice. You kept all this a secret from Jungkook, wanting to surprise him at your meetup.
You pulled out your ID and showed it to one of the employees at the front desk who allowed you to make your way up to the practice rooms. As you were stood in the elevator, your phone buzzed in your pocket. Retrieving the device, you saw it was a text from Jungkook.

With that, you slid your phone back into your pocket and stepped off the lift, heading directly to the door to the practice studio. You startled a bit when it opened, thinking it was Jungkook, but Hoseok walked out instead. His forehead was glistening with sweat and he had a small bag tossed over his shoulder, assumably heading home for the day. His eyes widened and he jumped back a bit once he saw you.
"Oh, Y/n!"
"Hi, Hobi." You grinned in greeting.
"You got your braces off!" He gaped.
"Shh!" You frantically shushed him. "Jungkook doesn't know. It's a surprise."
"Oh. Sorry." He placed a hand over his mouth, walking past you. "See you later."

You took in a deep breath of preparation before entering the studio. Jungkook, Taehyung, Jimin, and Namjoon were the only ones left, all of them looking like they were ready to head out, except Jungkook, whose back was facing you as he placed things in his bag.
The other three noticed your sudden entrance, but before they could say anything, you put your finger to your lips to silently shush them. Their eyes widened in surprise when they caught a glimpse of your braces-free teeth.

"Hey, Jungkook, we're gonna head out." Namjoon spoke.
"Okay." The youngest responded, still busy packing his bag.
The three walked past you, acknowledging you with a nod before they stepped out of the room, leaving you and your boyfriend alone.
"Hey there, handsome." You spoke up, announcing your presence.
Jungkook spun around at the sound of your voice, his weary expression brightening instantly.
"Y/n!" He hurried over and embraced you in a tight hug, burying his face in your neck.

When he pulled away, he took notice of a difference in your appearance, catching a glimpse of your teeth as you held back a grin. His brows furrowed, his large brown eyes darting all over your face.
"You got your braces off." He gasped.
"I did. I went to my appointment while you were at practice."
"You're so beautiful!" He gushed, sweeping you off your feet to spin you around before returning your feet to the floor. "Smile again. I wanna see your pretty straight teeth."
You flashed a proud smile, showing off your pearly whites.
"My girl is so beautiful—with and without the braces." He specified, peppering kisses along your cheeks. "Since we planned to go out to eat and you got your braces off, why don't you choose where we go today?"
"Okay." You agreed happily.
"It'll be like a celebration lunch." Jungkook said while grabbing his bag.
"I actually have somewhere in mind." You grabbed his hand, giving it a squeeze as you guided him out the door.
"Lead the way."
