What Happened Next

Chapter 8

Merida

Everyone looks at me with respect, realizing I'm right. Well, of course. We all wanted answers, and they were goin' ta give 'em to us. Plus, I wanted that girl to survive. Speaking of which-

"Let that girl go or ah'll shoot yew in tha 'ead!" I yell, aiming one of my arrows at the snobby man's ginger sideburns. Hmm. They go quite well with Anna's.

Hans holds up his hands in surrender, and Anna scrambles out of his lap. Her sister grabs her elbow and helps her up, glaring at Hans. "Go ahead. Shoot me. Freeze me. Use your magic hair on me." We all stare at Rapunzel, who blushes.

"M-magic hair?" Anna whispers, overcome. "I thought that belonged to some girl who got kidnapped by a witch and had loooooong blond hair, not scruffy brown."

Rapunzel blushes, seeming nervous. "I- I don't have it anymore, though. It's a long story."

Gothel smiles wickedly. "Which is why we're here, deary! We're here to give you back your powers!"

Rapunzel's face was red, and she was obviously trying to keep it under control. "I don't even HAVE powers, Mother! Well, I did, but you USED them! You used me! You're a villain. All of you. You're all cold, black-hearted villians."

"Or frozen-hearted." Anna said. We all snickered nervously.

Hans spoke up. "The real badguys are Olaf, Maximus, and your three brothers." We were on him in a minute.

"Why, you little liar! Maxinus is a sweetheart! He'd never do anything to hurt anybody!" Rapunzel said, punching him in the nose.

"Olaf taught us the meaning of love! You're the badguy here!" Anna spit out, glaring at him.

"And me bro'ers are NOT cowards and thieves and villians like yew are!" I screamed, loading an arrow in my bow.

Apparently Elsa had had enough. Yelling loudly, she cried, "Hans, I'll take you up on that offer!"

And sent a pound of ice hurtling towards his heart.

Anna

I watched Elsa's icy dagger in awe as it flew toward Hans, seeming to almost go in slow motion. Though I hope I never have to kill anyone, Hans is one of the few people I wish would die.

Looks like my wish would come true.

But Hans just stood there, holding out his hands as if saying, 'Hit me. I can take it.' The ice finally reached him, and we all looked expectantly at Hans, expecting him to be dead already.

He wasn't. Inches before it would've struck his heart was the ice dagger, being held in place by a dark purple liquid.

Hans grinned at us. Looking up, he let the dagger fall onto the floor. Rapunzel's mother(?) stood next to him, holding a ball of forest green liquid in her hands. The bear towered over them, a black shimmery liquid surrounding him.

We gaped at them. Hans snickered, the purple goop beginning to reach out at us. Apparently that was the others' cue, because the green and black liquid joined Hans'. I backed up, startled when I hit the wall. Elsa thrust her hand out at Hans, but nothing came out. Merida leveled an arrow at the bear, but it dissolved as soon as it touched the goop. Rapunzel just stood there in shock, letting the green stuff overtake her. I watched in horror as she disappeared. She was gone.

Elsa

Frantic, I tried to make a wall of ice so Anna could be safe. Nothing worked. I looked down at my hand, shaking it. "Come on, work! No, no no!!" I fell on the floor. "Now is not a good time to stop! Please! Don't leave me...."

I looked up, noticing that Hans' purple power-because that was what it was-was advancing on me fast. I tried to run, but was too late. It overtook me, making me feel nothing, see nothing, hear nothing- wait a minute. I heard Anna screaming. I tried to say something, to tell her it was alright, but I couldn't. I felt.... too tired. Too sleepy. I just wanted to go to bed....

Anna

I ran.

Sprinting through the door behind me- how had I failed to notice it?- I found myself in a long hallway. I had to get out. I had to get Kristoff. Olaf. Sven. I refused to believe Olaf was a badguy. He was too lovable, too cute, too naïve.

I set off to their bedrooms.
