Any thoughts of talking to Jesse are soon disregarded by the party preparations. I don't even have time to avoid him, because I'm too busy planning things. He texts me a few times, but all my responses are party related, and he stops trying to have any off topic conversations.
Gloria calls me a few times, but once I assure her that everything is taken care of, she backs off and concentrates on taking care of herself.
I keep to my room today, ignoring all attempts from Kara to discuss Darcy and Jesse. I reluctantly add her and her parents to the guest list and make sure they get an invitation, personally delivered, so they don't think they were snubbed.
"Alexis come on!" Kara whines, "You've been working for hours" I barely even glance at her and keep typing away on my laptop. I'm actually taking a break from the party planning and inputting everything from the party into my event assignment, then I might take a minute to finish off my business essay.
"I just have too much work to do Kar"
She sighs and flops against her bed, tossing her pillow into the air and catching it. "Is this because of Jesse?"
My glare shut her up and she put up her hands in surrender. "Ok, ok"
My eyes are sore and I rub them, lying back on my soft pillows for a moment. "I don't want to talk about it"
She nods but then smirks. "So why are you wearing his shirt then?"
I glance down and notice that I apparently put on Jesse's shirt that I had been wearing the other night. It was light blue, incredibly soft, and still smelt like him. "I must have just put it on after showering"
She grins. "At least you're still thinking of him, even if you're ignoring him"
"I don't have time to think about him". She huffs and walks out the door. I keep working for a few more hours, and finally everything is done.
A knock at the door compels me to get up, and my legs slightly collapse under me. Not surprising considering I haven't left the dorm today. "Coming" I call, quickly pulling on a pair of shorts.
I answer the door, surprised to see Maya Callaghan. "What are you doing here?". I don't try to mask my surprise. Despite her struggles, she looks good today. All dewy. She pushes past me and into my room.
"You can't come to the party tomorrow if you're not dressed properly" she looks through my cupboard, muttering things like 'not poofy enough', 'not colourful enough' while I went back to my bed.
She twists her body back to me and groans dramatically. "There's nothing in he.... Wait" she stares at me. "Is that Jesse's shirt?"
The blush rushes in and I bite my lip. I'm going to deny it, but she knows, and I'm not a great liar. "Yeah it is" I admit.
"OH MY GOSH HE'S DATING YOU!!!" she squeals, grabbing my hands and dancing around the room. I'm shocked, but I go with it. "Ok. You need to come dress shopping with me" she announces.
"But what about Darcy?" my eyes search hers but I find no answers. "We'll talk about it, lets just go" she is impatient, so I nod and grab my bag.
"But, maybe change your shirt first?" she smirks and I roll my eyes and agree.
"Good, we have some things we need to discuss. And I have a plan"

Maya has so many dresses in front of her on mannequins that I don't know how she's going to choose. She dragged me to a bunch of boutiques before finally coming to Charlie's Couture. Now I'm sitting here on a plush couch drinking champagne while she chooses.
