I woke up and tried to move but my body was sore all over, it was very hard to turn and I winced with the pain. The images of what happened yesterday filled my mind.
"You are not supposed to move." I looked at Edward and gasped.
"Edward, what are you doing here?" I asked him, I was still in his shirt, I realised.
"You wanted me to stay." He said and smiled lightly.
I was gonna cry if I did not change the topic.
"Hey you remember the day my friends sneaked the television in class and we saw dirty dancing?" I asked him suddenly.
"Yeah, you got a whole weak detention." He laughed, but he sounded puzzled at that.
"Hey, it wasn't even my fault, I took the permission." I said frigidly.
"I guess that's what you got for having bad reputation in school." He said and laughed again.
It was so good to be us again; I was loving every stupid minute of it.
"Ok tell me the most stupid thing you faced in school." He asked me.
"Ok, I remember, we had a maths exam the next day and me, Iris, Alice, Sherry, Tory were sitting in the corridor and unfortunately maths was not for us, so Iris said that she will imitate Mrs. Gomes and she was cat walking, swinging her hips, rolling the bag around her finger and all of us were laughing our asses off when Principal Hughes came and started asking us questions, it was so funny I cracked as soon as he went to the other class, that was detention surely, but I managed to control." I told Edward.
"I can just imagine Iris in those specks and talking." He said laughingly.
"This is amazing." I said slowly.
"Yeah, those were the days." He said.
"I miss them, so much." I whispered and was a tear rolled down my eyes, after college the only friend I had was Edward, everyone had taken their own roads home and I missed them all, so much.
"Why don't you call them?" He suggested.
"No contact numbers." I mumbled and wiped my tears.
After that Edward left for a change, I was still in a daze; I had been so close to being raped. Nick was a very disgusting man, I hated him with a fury I did not
Know I could possess, but then Edward's pace popped out and I recalled how he had yanked Nick away from me. He was my night-in-shining-armour. But I vowed that I would forget what had happened. Something that yesterday had taught me was that life was too short and unpredictable to waste; I had to live in the moment. When I got up, it was a relief to realise that I was almost back to normal, though it still hurt a little but I could do.
I was in the kitchen waiting for the coffee when Edward came in,
"Good-morning." He looked fresh and all ready to take on the world.
"Morning." I said.
"What are you doing?" He asked me.
"What does it look like I'm doing? Cooking breakfast." I said.
"Why would you do that?" He demanded.
"Because I wanted to thank you for whatever you did and for staying with me and now I would like you to forget what happened." I said sweetly.
"Well, that's ok then." He said.
"Though I know it would be difficult, but Edward it is too much to take, I can very easily ... breakdown after thinking about that so I want to forget the whole deal that took place." I added sadly.
