Chapter Ten

A new day is supposed to bring new beginnings with it but mine got me shadows of the past lurking at my mind. And stupid little Andy was ringing my bell like a demon possessed. I opened the door and he lifted two sets of newspapers for me.

"I want one." I told him sleepily.

"I know Sam, but Mr. Edward is not in so you keep his too." He said happily and handed me the two sets of paper, the first thought that came to my mind was that he was at Shanelle's. The thought disgusted me because the day before he had said that he wanted me.

"Miss Sammy, are you ok?" I looked down at Andy a little dazed; he was clutching my pyjamas,

"What is it, Andy?" I asked him.

"Can I play with your dog for a little while?" He asked me sweetly and for the first time I noticed just how small he was, his mother made him deliver the newspapers to the whole buildings but he was very adorable.

"Sure, look do one thing, you distribute all the newspapers and then go change, I'll ask your mom and you, I and Vodka will go the park for a little picnic, and how does that sound?" I asked him and a smile broke out on his face.

"You are the best Sam. But who is Vodka?" He asked me.

"My dog silly, now rush along and don't be late." I ushered him towards the lift and he gave me one last heart swelling smile and left.

I went in, took a very hot and refreshing shower and then changed into casual jeans and a shirt. I was just giving a little milk to Vodka when the doorbell rang. I went to let Andy in but froze when I saw Edward standing there in boxers and a tee.

"Morning, Andy said you have my paper." He asked me sleepily. I couldn't say anything because of the sight of him so I just nodded and went in to get it.

He took the newspaper and then said,

"Sorry, couldn't take the paper today, I over slept I guess." He said and yawned. The relief that spread to me was almost dazzling; he had not spent the night at Shanelle.

"What are you doing all dressed up?" He asked me.

"Oh, I was going ..." Andy's excited voice cut in.

"Can we go, Sam?" He asked me.

"Sure we can, you stay here and see that Vodka drinks the milk and I will just go and ask your mommy." I told him and looked around to see Edward looking confusingly at me and then Andy.

"Where to so early?" He asked.

"I was just taking Andy and Vodka to the park for a little picnic." I told him and he smiled at that thought.

"I like that boy." He said fondly.

"I know, he is very adorable, poor baby wakes up so early to get us papers, I thought I'll take them out today." I told him and before I could stop the question flew out of my mouth.

"Do you wanna come with us?" he looked startled at my question and for a moment I thought he would refuse but then he shrugged and said,

"I'll change and come, give me fifteen minutes." He told me and went in his apartment to change.

It was a good day to go out and the atmosphere was pleasant too. Edward and I laid down the sheets on the corner of the park too avoid a lot of chaos.

"Can I go, please Sam?" Andy was jumping excitedly.

"Where do you wanna go?" I asked him smiling at his enthusiasm.

"I wanna go and play with Vodka." He said.
