He's too sensibly dressed for a seasoned sailor though, so he looks more like a classical musician imo.

To explain why he's holding what looks like a glowing antique perfume bottle: he comes from a family of guild artisans, more specifically perfume makers. Because of this, he grew up playing around with his parents' distillation equipment, etc etc. which led him to later become an artificer. For flavour, since he does all of his tinkering at home, I thought it'd be fun for all of his alchemical formulae to be contained in perfume bottles and such. Also they have different smells - e.g. alchemical fire smells like cinnamon, alchemical acid would be citrus, etc
I'm slowly getting the hang of using overlays which is kind of exciting because now the stuff I draw doesn't look as bland : )
