Flashbacks

* A Few Years Ago *

The bell rings, telling you that school is finally over. It was your last day of high school and you were heading to a party to celebrate the end of school with your friends. You were heading out of school when you hear.

'' - Y/N! Wait for us! ''

You turn around to see your best friend, Claire, with some of your other friends. Claire walks up to you and starts yelling around that school is over like a crazy person. You say.

'' - Claireeeeeeee.  Stop this is embarrassing!

   - I mean, school IS over for us forever! You have to cheer for that, she says before continuing to cheer.

   - I cannot be seen with that crazy woman ever again, you say as your friends start laughing. ''

As your friends ask you if you want to go somewhere with them but you politely decline as you want to look for someone... your boyfriend, Jason. You go look around the school grounds and even his favorite spot to stay at but he was nowhere to be found. You thought that he maybe already left home because he wanted to rest before the party. You realized that he was avoiding you for the past weeks but you always thought that there was a reason behind it. You give up the search to go home and get ready for the upcoming party in the evening. As you go home, you try to call and text Jason but the same thing happens: no answer or reply. You decide to make a small YouTube video before getting ready for the party. You relax and spend your afternoon browsing through Twitter and talking to friends on Discord before leaving around 8 PM for the party.

As you and your friends got there, you decided to go have fun with your friends. A lot of animation was happening around but still no sign of Jason. You start loosing hope to see him as two hands cover your eyes. You then hear a familiar voice saying.

'' - Guess who. ''

You then turn arounf to see Jason. You smile as he says.

'' - Missed me? ''

Of course not. It's not like I was looking for you or trying to talk to you for the past few weeks or anything. 

'' - Of course I did! Why weren't you answering my texts or calls?

   - I... needed some time alone. That's all.

   - Okay but tell me next time. I would feel less worried.

   - Will do, he says, hugging you. Now if you don't mind, I'm going to join my friends.

   - Okay see you. ''

And here he was, gone again. You sigh before partying again with your friends.

* A Few Hours Later *

The party was over as you and your friends left the party. You were really sleepy as your friends were taking you back home. On your way back, you see two people kissing. You can't help but feeling happy for them even though you couldn't tell who it was. At least it's a real love, not like you and Jason these days. 

There was only one problem.

Only one.

The boy in the couple kissing was Jason. 

Last days of school are supposed to be happy and joyful huh?

Even if in the outside it was the case for you, if you had figured out who the faces were...

You wouldn't think the same.

Turns out you would never figure it out until a year later. 

The time where the both of you broke up.

* Present Time *

'' - Y/N? Y/N! ''

You come back to reality after you spaced out for a good hour with Elliott shaking your arm like a crazy person. You then say.

'' - Oh hey. What happened?

   - Well we were watching dumb videos when you just spaced out of nowhere like that. A penny for your thoughts?

    - Oh it's nothing really. Just a flashback. ''

A dumb flashback. A flashback that I wish I would never remember.

 '' - Alright then. We are going to eat. You coming?

     - Yeah... I'll be right there. ''

As Elliott leaves the room, you can't help but think about what happened.

Why this flashback? 

Why now?

You decide to drop the questions for now and go enjoy the persent moment. You try to forget it as it would help you to be happy but the only question the came back in your brain is...

Why would he do this to me?
