CAR DRIVES (Colorado)

Slate rocks painted red

And toothpick trees with parsley sit far away

Small shacks to huge movie mansions

And Too green Feilds sit unused

volchers sit on picket fences

as their pray dances below them

brocklli bushes cover the ground

And dirty lakes lay in the middle of nowhere

We drive in big sky country

and hay bales are covered from the weather

Cows sit on platous and horses roam in barns

As we pass horse ranch after horse ranch.

We parralell with the train tracks that carry coal

And see American flags wave in the wind.

We drive in clear blue skies

And leave the well known rain and clouds behind

Even though we know they will catch up.

Abandoned mobile homes covered in dust

And animal skulls cover walls.

We pass firework stands

when its long passed July

It looks like someone photoshoped the land and sky behind it

And the clouds look too fluffy.

Towns of dust and metal houses pass

As I wait for my mind to go blank
