So, We're Now Heroes?

Chapter 2

Yin's POV

The figure we saw was now in front of us, we all froze in place. It stared at us, it looked at us one by one. He looked at Joichiro, the figure suddenly had a sickening smile on it's face as he looked at him.

My eyes widened at the realization, so did Rin. We turned to Joichiro who was frozen in place as he stared at the figure.

"JOICHIRO!!! RUN!!" We yelled as we got up and ran towards him, the figure moved with it's incredible speed. He raised his claws as he was about to slash Joichiro, good thing I made it in time and was able to push Joichiro down to dodge the attack.

I panted a bit and got up, I pulled Joichiro to stand up. We looked at the figure who was slouched down and it's back facing us. It slowly turned towards us, the same sickening smile on it's face. My breath hitched at it's large self.

I could feel myself trembling a bit, I breathed in and out to calm my nerves. I looked at the figure and tried to think as to how we could defeat this thing. 

The figure moved and we dodged, I stumbled a bit but got my balance back. I tried to think of solutions to stop it, but in a dome with nothing but your friends and a monster who holds your fears, is not helping me one bit.

Attack after attack, we were able to dodge. But if this keeps going. I don't know how long we'll be able to last. The figure moved again and we dodged, but we slowed down a bit due to being tired.

The figure strikes again, it's claws out. We moved but due to being tired, we weren't fast enough. I catch my breath, but I didn't notice the figure made it's move again, and when I did notice. It was too late. The figure injured my bicep and I screamed out in pain.

"AHHHH!!" I yelled out as I clutched my injured arm.

"YIN!!" Joichiro and Rin yelled with worry in their faces. 

The figure attacked and this time I was able to dodge. There was a pause between the figure and us, the figure raised one of it's hand a bit and there was some sort of black thing coming out. It was moving slowly, but it caught us off guard when it suddenly attacked.

The black thing became something sharp, and stabbed through Rin's shoulder, a lot of blood was dripping onto the floor. Joichiro and I screamed his name and went to his aide.

I ripped my jacket sleeve and tied it around Rin's shoulder, hoping it would at least stop the bleeding. I looked over at Joichiro and his face had an expression I haven't seen.

He was mad, I could feel the rage inside him boiling up. I tried putting my hand on his shoulder to help him calm down, but he suddenly stood up. His bangs covering his eyes. His fists clenched, he was gritting his teeth together.

He turned around to face the figure, and realization hit me. I grabbed his leg to stop him from what he was about to do. But since I was injured, he was a bit stronger than I was. He made his way towards the figure.

"YOU IDIOT!! WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?!" I yelled, he didn't listen, he kept moving forward.

"ARE YOU TRYING TO GET YOURSELF KILLED?!" He didn't listen. I had tears sprung onto the corners of my eyes.

"Joichiro!! STOP!! DON'T GO ANY NEARER!!!" I said as I stood up, I was about to run towards him. But I was too late.

I stopped in my tracks as I looked at Joichiro with wide eyes. The figure grabbed him by the neck and lifted him up, Joichiro struggled trying to get free. 

Joichiro suddenly stopped struggling and went limp, his eyes went dull. I called out his name, he didn't respond nor looked over at me. He went still.
