I hear a distant voice inside my head. "Lily. Lily wake up, please." It's saying. I recognise the voice, but there is no face to match it because I'm still stuck alone with the pitch black darkness.

The voice starts to become clearer and louder. "Lily?" It says.

My eyes begin to open slowly, the blinding light in my face. Suddenly the blinding light is covered by a face that is familiar.

"Vinny? What happened?" I ask starting to wake up a bit more.

"We were involved in a car crash. We were being chased by three cars and we were trying to lose them." He explains.

Suddenly I feel a sharp pain. I notice the several stitches and bandages all over my body.

"Well you hit more than just your head," he says "you've damaged your arm, and leg as well." He says sympathetically. "Luckily the doctor says you will fully recover, it will just take a couple of weeks.

I then notice the bandages along one of his arms and his shoulder.

"You're injured too." I say worried.

"Oh don't worry about me, I'll be fine. I've just damaged my arm and shoulder and just a bit of neck and back pain, but not too serious. Do you want me to stay here with you?" He asks.

"Yes please," I say softly, still in pain" I could use some company.

At that moment Ashton walks into the room. "Good morning Agent Hughes, glad to see you're awake. Hope your recovery goes well. We managed to recover a lot of the stuff that was in your car, and we've put it in your house." He says.

"Thank you," I reply "wait! How long was I out for?" I ask concerned.

"A whole two days,"Ashton says "I'll let you rest." He says before he leaves the room.

As he leaves, a female doctor with brown hair walks in. "Hello agent Hughes, I'm Kasandra, and I'll be making sure you fully recover." She says reassuringly.

"Can you remember what happened in the car crash?" She asks.

I begin to try and think back. "I'm sorry... all I remember is us being chased and then pitch black darkness." I reply with not much memory of the event.

"Okay that's fine, at least you can remember something. Some people often experience side effects such as amnesia. If you experience any other side effects, please let me know straight away." She says before she leaves the room.

"I'm sorry." Vinny says.

"For what?" I ask confused.

"For crashing the car, it's all my fault. If it wasn't for me you wouldn't be in the medical ward right now." He replies in guilt. His eyes reach the floor and I see tears starting to form in his eyes.

"No Vinny, please don't try and put the blame on yourself, it's not your fault. It's those criminals who were following us. You have nothing to feel sorry or guilty for. Plus I would've been a lot worse off had I have been on my own." I say trying to lighten his mood a bit.

He lifts his head back up to me and smiles softly. "Thank you." He replies.

Then two other people walk into the room. It's Kendra and Damien.

"Here." She says handing me an envelope with my name on it. I open it to find it's a get well soon card from : Mum , Dad, Kendra, Vinny and Damien.

After reading the lovely messages, I say "thank you," and we all sit and chat for a while. I'm still feeling quite weak and tired though, so I shut my eyes into darkness again.
