Chapter 7: Identity

I could hardly sleep last night, even with the more comfier bed that I had bought for my house. There's still a bit of updating to do, but I am happy with it for now.

My mind was racing and stirring all night, constantly thinking about this mission. I get the briefing this morning and me and Vinny will have to set off later today.

It's currently 8:45 and I start to get myself ready, going for a shower to wake me up, and then getting changed and eating some breakfast, ready for the day ahead of me.

As I open the door I'm immediately met by Ashton's Hazel brown eyes.
"Oh Ashton you suprised me then" I say as we both laugh.

"Sorry I had just come up to give you this Lily, or should I say Jess" he replies handing me a passport with a new identity on.

The woman on the photo looked different to me, dark brown hair and more tanned skin than mine with bright green eyes. It'll be a strong disguise, I'll be unrecognisable. Plus I've always wondered what I would look like with dark hair as I was thinking about dyeing it from blonde to brown.

"Thank you Ashton" I say as Vinny exits his house.

"Morning Vinny, here is your new identity. You will be called Reuben" Ashton says as he hands him his new identity passport.

"Right we'll both of you head down to the gadgets department where you will be given your brief and also any gadgets you will need with you. Your helpers for this mission will be Jason and Nancy which work in the admin department, so they will be advising you whilst on your mission." Ashton says as he walks away.

Both me and Vinny head down to the ground floor to ask reception where the gadgets department is, as we haven't been there. It is on the floor below the ground floor, so we take the directions given to us to the steps which takes us down to a lab.

A man in a white lab suit walks up to ya greeting us. "Morning agents.." he says "you must be Ellie and Vinny?" He asks.

"Yes that's right" I reply.

"Right well my name's Tony and I will be helping you with your brief and your gadgets." He says as we follow him over to a nearby table with multiple gadgets displayed.

"Now you've both already got your smart watches and pistols, but I'm going to give you each a set of gadgets that will help you on this mission" he says.

He hands us both a cardboard square box and explains that it is for our disguises. "You will also need these" he says as he hands us two wedding rings "you will need to pretend to be a married couple as to make your disguises more realistic" he adds as we put the rings onto our fingers.

Then giving us a phone that we learnt about in our training. "Not only does this have all the functions of an ordinary mobile phone, it is also able to do so much more." He explains.

He hands me a small handheld device that looks a bit similar to a small key, however it is not flat. "Now this is a code transmitter, if you will have your earpiece already; but if you're unable to talk you can use this to send a code back to HQ."

He hands Vinny a small pen. "This pen is able to record speech and in a way is like a listening device. It is also able to fire a stun dart from the end of it, which will only work from your fingerprints"

He then hands us both an earpiece as well as some contact lenses. "Do not let anyone see these earpieces, as these are a dead giveaway that you are a secret agent. As for the contact lenses, they are actually small cameras that your helpers for this mission will use as a visual reference to be able to advise you. It will also change the colour of your eyes to match your disguise. That should be everything, so I will now give you your brief." Tony says.

"Ok thank you" I say as we follow him over to a different table where Ashton is also stood.

"Your mission is to track and report only, we only need to know who is there and what is being planned. This is a risky mission as it is so we cannot afford for anything to go wrong" Ashton begins.

"The private event is being held at a 5 star hotel in Cornwall overlooking the bay of St Ives, and we have managed to find you a house nearby. Try not to talk to anyone; but if you need to say it, you are a married couple out on business. Keep your story short." Ashton informs us.

"Any questions?" He asks us.

"How are we getting down there?" I reply with another question "my car was written off in the crash." I add.

"We have organised you a new car that you will be able to keep for yourself after this mission Lily. The keys will be at reception for you. Right then, get organised and make your way down to Cornwall. Good luck agents" Ashton finishes as he leaves the room.

We both head back up to our homes as Tony had organised for our stuff to be ready in the car. We gathered the last of the stuff we needed and said our goodbyes to the others before we head back down to the ground floor.
