Tammy's POVTonight was a full moon, I sat on my comfortable window seal with a pillow in my embrace staring at the wild distance of the woods. The sky was dark and blank with no stars except for the moon. The light it shone touched each and every corner that you could walk around without a flash light.
The fresh breeze blew at my direction giving me the comfort I needed. I remembered times like these when I would sit at Elsbeth's window with her and we would count the stars together and get lost while doing it. I was so lost in my haunting thoughts that I thought I saw something dark scamper through the thick woods.
I didn't pay much attention until a loud growl took my attention. I sat up the pillow falling from my lap as I stared into the woods where I suspect the loud sound came from. Another roar came this time sharp and harsh that's when I saw it or rather them
Wolves. They ran through the woods like they knew the place. I couldn't believe my eyes. I walked through that place and it seemed extremely harmless but you know what they say, don't judge a book by its cover.
I literally leaned in against the window to get a clearer view but my attention was switched when my door opened.
"Anika? What's wrong?" I walked towards her
"I'm..I'm scared!" She held onto me
"Awww its okay. You can sleep here with me tonight, okay." She nodded, a small smile of relief spreading over her face as I led her to my bed. We both entered the covers and laid in silence.
"I saw a wolf run into the woods,Tammy."
So that's why she was afraid
"You did?" I feigned ignorance about it
"Uh-huh. This place is not safe,Tammy. Its not." She buried her face on my chest
"Shhh, its alright. Am right here. Tam Tam won't let nothing hurt sweet Anika," I soothed her.
"Shhh, its alright. Am right here. Elssie won't let nothing hurt you,my sweet Tam Tam."
The reminder hurt me so bad that I couldn't hold hack Tue tear that oozed along my cheek. I realized that I too needed that comfort and the person I could get it from was continents away from me.
I couldn't really help it so I cried into Anika's hair making sure not to make a sound as she slowly drifted to sleep.™
Hunter's POV
Today was Estacita's first shift into a wolf. It wasn't going to be simple. So I had to be there with her just in case her first hunt didn't go so well. My grand aunt turned minutes after I did. We both strode through the woods quietly then racing deeper to the stone groove where Estacita was chained just to have her in control till after she changed.
We walked into the cave, she was lying on her stomach her skin so red,her arm muscles trying to squeeze out of her skin. Grand aunt and I stood patiently at the entrance watching her go through her first shift. This was going to be a very long night for us.
I could hear her swift and cut heart beats each second that passed. Estacita rolled to her side a ear pricking scream escaping her throat. She tore the back of her dress shirt in agony. The bones of back bone expanding trying to rip her skin off as she screamed in pain.
"Why does it hurt so bad!!!" She cried her claws growing longer. Her breath hitched then a scream followed, her hair stood as she got on all fours her scream transforming into a feminine roar, her blue eyes glinting back at the moon her new form debouching into view.
Estacita shook her milk white fur as she gazed at us. I could sense her fear, her heart beating hard and fast then it took over her,the first shift hunger. She had to hunt so we stepped aside to let her through.
With a feather of hesitation, Estacita walked past us and briskly scampered into the woods. I could hear her loud steps thump on the ground as she ran,her unfed nerves craving for a fill. This was going to be a memory she would hold for ever.
