Hunter's POV
I stood transfixed and bemused as I watched him come into full view,taking everyone's attention. I couldn't believe it,he was here. Alive!
"Jordileo!! Uncle..." I crossed over the room to him. Jameson had led him in and was now standing behind him
"Hunter! Oh,how you've grown!!" His face suddenly lit up when he saw me. He pulled me into an embrace then held my cheeks to consider me.
"You're alive! Mustafa said you were dead..."
"Oh come now,Mustafa has always been crazy. He can say anything." Jordileo brushed me off with a swing of his hand,joining to the crowd.
"Uncle, his is Teriss. She's a witch of the new age." I introduced when she came to my side. Jordileo took her hand in his with a smile and greeted her. She gasped suddenly flinching to the back and I caught her quickly.
"Are you okay?" My uncle held her shoulder
"Yes,yes. I'm okay,just too weary. It's been a long night." She smiled,feebly.
"Alright. You should take her to get some rest. Where's Maley,where's that beautiful aunt of mine?"
"I'll take you to her,sir." James offered and led him to the kitchen where grandmother was with the rest of the girls. I held Teriss,looking down to her when she tugged at the lapels of my jacket.
"Hunter,you need to call off the ceremony."
"What?!!"
"You have to call off the ceremony." She snapped " It's them....it's them,Hunter." She pointed towards the kitchen and I was perplexed.
"What are you saying?"
"They are the ones who spotted Estacita. They are the ones trying to stop her from getting a mate."
"No! Teriss. It can't be my uncle."
"I've had a seeing!"she snapped "Jordileo and Jameson...it's them!!"
"James...." I craned my eyes in line with the kitchen. Jordileo had Maley in an embrace and she looked so happy. James still stood behind him, like he was used to doing it.
"That is not the real James. He's just a camouflage." Teriss spoke with her eyes closed and her fingers twiddling. "He..he's a wizard of the old age," her eyes were rolled into her eyelids and her lips quivered "He gave Estacita a potion to blind her;James beguiled her to think she was in love with him. That's how he managed to cast the spotting spell." She continued gravelly,and I felt my heart shatter down to the floor of my being. I had been living with an enemy for half of my life and I didn't know it. I didn't sense it... I had to call off the ceremony.
"But the ceremony... Estacita?" I stuttered,unaware of what to do at the moment.
"The ceremony has to stop,Hunter. If Estacita goes into the consummatory without a mate,she will die." Teriss whispered,her warning gaze never leaving mine. She was right,if Estacita went to the consummatory with the elders but without her mate,she would lose her wolf abilities for ever.
See,during a breeding ceremony,the main celebrant has to consummate Infront of the elders of the old age. The witches would cast her permanent binding spell while the two had sex where they would become one. If the main celebrant was female,she would lose her virginity then so she had to be kept pure right from childhood. It didn't matter if it was a male but his mate had to be virgin. I didn't need a breeding ceremony because I am an alpha male. Now if the spell was cast and it found the celebrant single,it would strip them of their wolf leaving them completely human and mortal.
"Call off the ceremony.." Teriss said lastly before she wafted herself into the air. Her red gown glistening and spreading around her like wings. The light that was emitted from the tiny speckles of stone from her dress blinded the room as she whirled around. Everyone stopped and turned to her,bewilderment on their faces.
"What is she doing?" Some if the guests whispered amongst themselves in shock
"It's the witch if the new age. What the hell does she think she's doing?"
"Ladies and Gentlemen,I'm sorry to announce that the ceremony has been called off!" I said into the attentive silence of the hall and a loud gasp followed suit.
"Hunter,what are you doing?" Estacita darted towards me in anger. "What the hell is she doing up there?" She pointed a harsh finger at Teriss' figure. I brushed her off,nit wanting to tell her how the love of her life..or she thought...was the murderer of her parents. I climbed up on the stairs where I would have everyone's view
"Most of you knew about my parents strange murder." I started
"Hunter what are you doing?" Estacita whisper yelled at me. Her cheeks flushing a bright crimson,showing just how furious she was at this moment but she'd thank me later.
"But I bet you didn't know that the same people who had them killed are here tonight and they also had my sister spotted." The crowd broke into loud paradoxical murmurs at the new piece of information, rapidly gibbering to one another. "I've called off this ceremony because my sister won't be consummating with any one because she has no mate yet." I revealed and many lousy comments were thrown at me but I choose not to consider any of them.
"Why has the music stopped?" Maley walked came into the hall with her nephew holding her hand. Teriss instinctively thrust a thrash of light at Jordileo but James jumped in and harnessed it,his eyes glowing in line with the bolt of light that had struck him. His figure started to shift as he grew more taller,a black cloak appearing over his body. James now stood up straight,a glint of evil in his dark eyes. He was bald and tan skinned with a graying mustache. I can't believe he had one time tried to molest my sister....
"He's the banished wizard. How can it be?" The crowd went nuts again as James came into full view.
