Tammy's POV
Two months had galloped down the time line and I had blended right in at the Manchesters' house. And over the small time,I had found a trickle of happiness though it wasn't deeply satisfying. Anika had now made 12 and she was very excited with her life's journey.
"See,I told you, you would cope,"
The memory of her kitchen birthday held a train in my mind as a smile curved my lips. But if only it wasn't for that man....he ruined everything and he seemed to be good at doing it with no nerve or thought of peoples feelings.
"What the hell d'you think your doing??" his deep voice thundered taking all our attention. We all stood frozen with flour allover the floor and on our faces and on Anika.
"I don't buy stuff to be wasted in such a despicable manner," he snapped
"We're sorry sir!" Vitani apologized
"I don't give a fuck if you're sorry just clean this insane mess up," and just like that,he swivelled angrily and flounced out of the house...
"Tammy!" I gasped suddenly feeling heart bounce quickly then back to its normal pace when I turn my gaze and attention to whoever disturbed my peace
"What!?!" I glared at Anika but then smiled when she sat beside me
"Sorry if I bothered you,Tam but I need help with my hair," she pouted
"Awww,Nika. You know I can't braid your hair nicely,am terrible at it." I pulled her into a side hug
"I know. You're a complete mess but...Mrs Manchester's going out for grocery," Anika giggled
"Girls I'll be ( korf korf!) out for ( korf korf!) Groceries,"
"Are you okay,ma'am?" I leaped for her
"Me? Yeah sure (korf korf) just a little ( korf korf korf!!!) Oh shit!" She sat in the couch
"I'll come to the grocery shop with you,don't worry," Tammy offered
"Am going out Granny," Hunter appeared in the living room staring at his phone
"Oh Hunter,I was about to go out for some stuff but I'm not feeling alright," Mrs Manchester takes his attention.
"I'll pick them up for you,"
"Thank you but you have to go with someone,"
"No,that's okay,"
"Tammy will go with you. She knows what we need,"
He looks at me and I him. I do know why I can't look away but I just can't. My heart beat fast and wild as his gaze seemed to pierce through me.
"Fine," he said flatly then turned and left. Mrs Manchester handed me the list of the things we needed. I hurriedly followed Hunter...I mean Mr stark outside to his car. It had so long since I was in a car ride or outside in the open but I wasn't very excited...
I sat quietly in the co driver's seat as the car vibrated to life. Hunter turned the wheel backing up and driving out of the drive way.
Hunter's POV
We sat in ear deafening silence. Tammy kept her attention out side the window intentionally avoiding me. I let out a sigh driving through the empty street between the woods.
This was going to be a longgg day....
