"Come on baby girl," was the last thing I heard before I started to regain consciousness. I opened my eyes and found I was in a hospital bed. I looked around but I was in the room alone. "She's my daughter," I heard someone say outside my door. "She isn't your daughter anymore. You gave us to her," another voice said. "I gave her to you to keep her safe! I tried more than once to get her back from you! You were told to keep her safe not keep her forever!" the first voice yelled. "Who's to say she will want to stay with you? You've lied to her for 11 years," the second one said. Are they talking about me? I wondered. "Papa?" I said. My dad walked in along with Sarah's dad. "What's going on?" I asked. "We need to talk about something. But it can wait. How are you feeling?" Sarah's dad asked. "I'm fine. What were you two yelling about?" I asked curiously. "Nothing," my dad said. "How much did you hear?" Sarah's dad said, glaring at my dad. "I heard you yelling about a daughter," I said. "It's nothing sweetheart," my dad said. "It's not 'nothing'," Sarah's dad responded. "Were you talking about me?" I asked. "No," my dad said at the same time Sarah's dad said," Yes." "Okay?" I said. "Do you want to tell her or am I going to tell her?" Sarah's dad asked. "Tell me what?" I asked. "We're not telling her at all," my dad said. "You aren't telling me what?!" I demanded. "We have to tell her John," Sarah's dad said, ignoring me. I rolled my eyes and sighed. "There's no point, Ace," my dad said. "Ace?" I whispered to myself. "Doctor!" I heard as another flashback came to me.
~Flashback~
"Ace, your daughter needs you. She won't go to sleep without you," my uncle said. My dad said something back to him but I couldn't hear. I sighed and laid back on my bed. They kept going back and forth until my uncle came back into my room. "Where's daddy?" I asked quietly. "He's busy right now. How about we go to sleep until he comes?" my uncle asked. I nodded and climbed into his arms. A few minutes passed and I was almost asleep when my dad came into the room. I silently reached my arms out to him and he picked me up. I looked up at him and smiled.
~End Flashback~
I gasped and woke up. "You're my dad?" I asked
looking at Ace in shock.
