(Third Person's POV)
Once Fayore walked into the large ball room, everyone's eyes flew to her. They were enchanted by her beauty and by the aura of innocent demons she emitted.
Fayore walked next to Killeso, his arm around her slim waist. Yoko and Mila were next to the pair on the right. Hunter and Collin were on their left.
They all walked to the table that Killeso had reserved for them all. He helped Fayore sit before helping Mila and Yoko. The eyes on them slowly left and the large room lit with chatter again.
"Little Doll, would you accompany me to chat with my colleagues or would you like to stay here?" Killeso whispered to her, rubbing her back softly.
"I wanna go with you." She smiled, allowing him to take her hand and help her up.
They walked around as multiple people came up to the Head Powerful and his mate. No one dared to engage in conversation with Fayore, out of fear that Killeso would behead them on the spot.
That was, until a certain someone came up to them.
"Ah, Killeso. Lovely to see you here." The blonde man grinned as he came over, being followed by a dark brown haired female.
"What do you want, Gavin?" Killeso growled in anger. He hated Gavin, as he was trying to marry his sister.
"Oh, I just wanted to come over and ask about my fiancee. I believe she will soon be ready for me." He smiled.
Killeso growled and Gavin spoke again, "Sydney, welcome your fiance." Gavin snapped.
"Welcome fiancé. I hope your day is going well." The brown haired, black eyed girl said robotically.
Fayore looked at the girl and suddenly felt a rush of emotion.
She felt the girl's emotion.
The girl, Sydney, was in so much pain. Fayore could feel her pain, sadness, and disdain. The amount of pain she felt from Sydney rolled off in overbearing waves.
Sydney and Fayore stared at each other. They were both shocked. Sydney had felt the weight of sadness on her heart lift. She quickly realized that Fayore had unknowingly took away half her sadness.
Fayore stepped forward, her eyes never moving from Sydney's black ones. Sydney grabbed Fayore's face softly and laid their foreheads together. Both of their breaths were erratic and tears fell from Sydney's eyes. Fayore quickly wiped the tears away, hating to see Sydney sad.
"I...I never thought I'd find you." Sydney whispered, her eyes staring into Fayore's.
Fayore didn't respond. She didn't feel the need to. Both girls knew exactly what they felt.
Meanwhile, Killeso stared at his girl in confusion. He didn't understand why she reacted to Sydney like that. He thought she'd hate her as she was trying to marry him.
Although, for some reason, he felt okay with Sydney and Fayore's closeness.
Suddenly, an ear piercing scream was heard through the hall.
Mila's scream.
Killeso grabbed Fayore, who grabbed Sydney. The three ran toward the sound of whimpers and gasps.
They ran into the circle that had been formed around their table.
They spotted Mila on the ground, sweaty and in pain. Her body kept snapping, making the horrendous sound of breaking bones fill the silent ballroom.
Fayore and Killeso ran to Mila and Yoko, who was trying to calm her shifting best friend.
Killeso picked Mila up and ran out the door. Fayore's demon speed helped her keep up. Fayore grabbed Yoko's hand and turned to look at Sydney.
She smiled softly and leaned in, pressing a chaste kiss to Sydney's cheek.
"I'm coming back. I promise." Fayore whispered to Sydney, who refused to let go of Fayore's hand.
"No, please take me with you. Once you leave, they'll hurt me." Sydney whimpered helplessly.
Sydney reminded Fayore of herself when she was with The Five in the beginning. Always scared. During that time, Fayore would cling to the sympathetic guards so the monstrous men wouldn't get her. Sadly enough, the guards always handed her over.
Fayore didn't want Sydney to feel like that.
Fayore smiled and ran, taking Sydney and Yoko with her. She followed her mate's scent and was led in the middle of the woods.
Killeso had taken off Mila's dress, knowing that Mila would be sad if it was ripped.
The last bone Mila had to break was the worst one.
Her spine.
Mila had hair sprouted all over her body. She thought the shift chose to give her a break, but that thought was disrupted with a scream and her spine suddenly snapped.
Mila's wolf was beautiful. The wolf was brown, the same color as Mila's hair. The wolf had long, shaggy hair that fell everywhere. Mila was roughly 5'6, tall for a she-wolf. Her wolf was slightly bulky, but also skinny.
Mila dropped to the ground, tired from all the pain. Yoko and Fayore ran to her, rubbing her side and telling her how strong she is.
Suddenly, the sounds of Linton and Johnson were heard.
"Boss, I-" Linton breathed in deeply, his eyes snapping to Mila's now perked up wolf.
"Mine." He growled. Fayore and Yoko backed away as Linton quickly shifted.
Linton's wolf slowly approached Mila's wolf and licked her neck. Mila barked happily and laid on her back, a sign of playful submission.
Mila had just acknowledge that she was the submissive and Linton was the dominant.
Linton gave a wolfy smirk and licked her belly. He picked Mila up by her excess skin on the back of her neck ran away with her. Mila howled, a howl that signified to her family that she was okay and happy.
Killeso felt a small tear wanting to escape. He was just coming to the realization that his little sister wasn't a child anymore. In the world of werewolves, a shift is your puberty. Once you shift, you are now a man or woman.
Mila is now a woman. She has found her mate, she could have kids. The thought was hard for Killeso to fathom. He had always thought Mila would stay with him forever, but that was an unrealistic dream.
He wanted Mila to be as happy as he is with his Fayore, but he also thought he'd be the one to make her happy. He never thought she'd need a mate, just her big brother.
"Killeso..." Fayore softly spoke, her hand wrapping around his.
Killeso looked down at her and she pulled his down, pecking his lips.
"She won't forget or leave you. She will always remember her big brother that took care of her. Linton is a new chapter, but you can always go back to the old chapters. You never fully leave the old ones because their always in your heart." Fayore smiled.
"You're right, Little Doll. Let's go back." Killeso smiled, pecking Fayore's forehead.
They turned to leave, but heard a repeat of the word from earlier.
"Mine."
