(Third Person's POV)
-TRIGGER WARNING-
Slight Suicide VibeFayore sat in her room, silently crying on the floor. She was surrounded by stuffed animals, toys, and electronics she had tried to cheer herself up with.
It has been approximately four weeks, four hours, twenty seven minutes, and eight seconds since Fayore's dream.
The first day, Fayore had thought everything was fine. Sure, she noticed that Killeso didn't hold her as much as usual. She also noticed that he would randomly leave every once in a while.
Three days after that, Killeso started ignoring her. She would call him, talk to him, and tap him but he would just stare into space.
Soon after, Mila and Yoko would leave all day and return at night, not saying anything to Fayore. They didn't glance at her, didn't even attempt to say anything.
Because of the neglect, Fayore and her beings has been speedily perishing.
When someone is mated to a Lycan, they need much more attention and love than any other mate. The reason is because a Lycan naturally wants to be around his mate at all times. The Lycan is strong, but can become weak because of their mate. For that reason and more, they often give their mates lots of attention, as they want their mates forever. The mate has to be able to handle the overbearing attention.
If the mate doesn't get the attention they were made for after they've already met their Lycan, they go through what is called 'Neglectia'.
Neglectia is a process, all starting with neglect.
First, the mate will recognize their neglect.
Second, the mate will try to draw attention to themselves.
Third, the mate will stop trying to gain affection and slowly go into a deep depression.
Fourth, the mate will began to stop taking care of themselves. Stop attempting to eat, stop bathing, and even stop speaking. They will also begin to get tired a lot, needing to sleep to halt that pain.
Fifth, they will fall into a comatose state and, eventually, die.
Fayore, because of how sensitive she already is, is already at stage three of Neglectia. She had done quite a lot to draw attention to herself in stage two.
She cuddled up to Killeso, threw fits, screamed, kissed, and even went as far as to expose her behind to him, all in hopes that he'd pay attention to her.
It pushed Fayore even more when she learned that Hunter was in Alaska with Collin, visiting a new Alpha. Hunter tries to call and text Fayore as much as he can, but Collin takes up much of his time.
Fayore stood up on shaky, weak legs and walked to the mirror in her room. She stared into the mirror at the body that she knew couldn't be hers.
The girl in the mirror had a rib cage that was too prominent to be Fayore's. The girl was small like Fayore, but her body was hallow and most of her skin was sunken in.
'Fayore...you must eat.' Elaine breathed weakly, not even being able to stand.
Scarlett sat in the corner of Fayore's mind, staring at the wall with tears streaming down her face. Scarlett was never one to cry, but she was in so much pain. She had waited for centuries for a mate, and he doesn't even want them.
'I-I can't...it hurts.' Fayore responded, dropping onto the ground.
Many would say that Fayore was being dramatic, exaggerative. But she wasn't. Most mates would actually be dead right now. The mate situation was created for them to greatly depend on each other, however, it didn't seem to be so good at the time.
Fayore crawled over to the chair in her room and grabbed Fluffuls. She hadn't touched the stuffed animal in three weeks, a long time for her.
Fayore clutched him to her chest, allowing the stuffed animal to bring her a low amount of comfort.
"Fluffuls..." She croaked out, not having using her voice much in weeks.
Suddenly, Fluffuls began to glow in Fayore's arms. Fayore watched in shock as, suddenly, Fluffuls had a small box attached to his Velcro hands.
Fayore slowly opened the box and attempted to gasp, but ended up pathetically coughing.
In the box, there was a simple key. The key was pure silver and with a cursive 'F' for the handle.
The key smelled weird, acidic. Fayore smelled it and was shocked to find out what was on it.
Verita.
Verita is something that every supernatural can't touch. Back in Viking days, high ranked humans would bathe in Verita in a way to make themselves invincible, as no supernatural can touch Verita without a feeling of electric burning.
However, Verita was dangerous to humans as well. It would act as a painless acid, slowly chewing at their skin. This made the humans decide they wanted it gone and they killed the mother of the substance, Veritanas.
It is said that Veritanas would awaken to choose a person to lead. A person that is her descendant. That person would then be aided in finding Veritanas' hidden temple, where they shall take over as the mother of Verita.
Fayore knew the story. Heck, her mother had told it to her millions of times.
Fayore didn't get to analyze more as her door opened. Fayore quickly put the key in the box and stuffed the box into the chair.
Sydney smiled as she walked into the room, but it dropped when she saw Fayore's deathly pale and bony state.
"Oh my gosh, sister!" Sydney screamed, she ran over to Fayore and sat on the floor next to her.
Sydney put her hand on Fayore's cheek and gasped, "Neglectia. I can't believe it...y-you're dying."
Everyone knew what Neglectia felt like. The person's body temperature made dramatic highs and lows. One second it is scorching hot, the next it is freezing.
Sydney had been in the country over. She was in a training camp, as she wanted to be stronger. A warrior.
When Sydney left, Fayore was still healthy and smiling. Now, Fayore looked as if she could drop dead at any moment.
"I'm not dead, but I-I'm getting t-there." Fayore bitterly chuckled before coughing, blood spluttering on the carpet.
"I'm going to get you food." Sydney said before rushing out of the room.
Sydney returned to Fayore with a tray full of large, calorie filled foods.
Sadly, Fayore was too weak to chew. Sydney didn't give up though and fed Fayore mashed potatoes and pudding.
Three minutes later, Fayore cried as she sat in a pile of green, white, and brown vomit.
Sydney then realized just how bad this situation is.
