Chapter 7: The Melancholia Prevention

Jeong-sae reserved an appointment for the conversation with Attorney Kwak. She needs to know if her father did something that may affect the course of the court trial regarding the custody of the latter. So, she decides to go to his office without a doubt. However, a moment before she opens the door she hears Mr. Kwak talking with someone via a phone call. This wasn't an ordinary call, this was the thing that going to change the course of the trial. Since she has no olfactory nerve problems, she decides to listen. Luckily, she has gathered some information. This won't be problem since she used her phone to record some of the juicy details. Having the nerve to confront him won't do anything but will make it worse so she decides not to go through with her appointment. She decides to cancel it immediately. Instead, she will go to her private investigator Park Eun-hyun last-minute. Luckily, he isn't busy and is happy to know that she has deciphered some information that can be used to have the court's appeal. The both of them agree to meet at the Maison de Bourbon at lunchtime.

*A COUPLE OF HOURS LATER*

Finally, Eun-hyun has arrived at the meeting place. However, he is surprised at what he saw. Jeong-sae has already started eating. Her meal at the moment was a Beef Wellington coupled with a glass of fine British red wine. She stated that she didn't eat breakfast due to the cancelled appointment and immediately apologized afterwards. Anyway, let's get back to the good stuff. She gave her phone to Eun-hyun and he started to play the recording afterwards. The recording says:

"Yes, of course. I'll do what you want in no time. I'll make sure that everything will go as what you've said and what you have paid for. Nice doing business with ya!"

Well, since Eun-hyun had some training at war code deciphering department of the military he has noticed some details that can be very crucial when it comes to discovering the truth behind everything. He told her that the voice there was clearly from Mr. Kwak since according to his studying, the call wasn't put on speaker mode so there was a major difficulty with recording the voice he was talking to but luckily they have discovered that the attorney was bribed by an unknown contact. He decides to go somewhere else immediately and thanks her for the information. The both of them part ways again. Everything seemed normal except for a tiny bit. Someone who appears to be suspicious was listening to their conversation. Who is this person? Is he linked to someone that'll be part of the trial?
