Chapter 8: I've Got Eyes Everywhere

*MEANWHILE AT THE MAISON THE BOURBON*

After lending over some evidence of Mr. Kwak being bribed by an unknown contact, Ahn Jeong-sae and Park Eun-hyun part ways again. It was supposed to be a normal day until it was revealed that someone was listening to their conversation suspiciously. Meanwhile, after both of them leave the establishment. This unknown contact is revealed. She is Song Mi-yun (송미윤), the estranged friend of Jeong-sae. The last time they've had contact with each other was at their high school days when they used to hang out a lot before she migrated to the Philippines (필리핀). Later on, she calls Ahn Kyung-min, the father of Jeong-sae who is on the other side of the trial.

Moments later, Eun-hyun arrives at the Seoul Metropolitan Court. He decides to submit his findings to Shin Tae-kwon (신태권), one of the head investigators stationed at the court premises. Believing that the evidence is enough, Tae-kwon decides to file a court petition that will eventually lead to a court trial once it is approved by the Local Court Justice. He also reveals that he will volunteer to be the attorney of their side once the approval process is done.

*40 DAYS LATER*

The Local Court Justice of the SMC decides to hold a press conference last-minute. Luckily, there were a lot of press delegations that were present in the establishment at the time. However, the media decided to televise it so a television interruption, particularly on the KBC Channel (케이비씨 채널). The cameraman instructs himself to focus the recorder on the Court Justice. He states that:

"Good Afternoon, Ladies and Gentlemen. Before I'll start, I would like to offer my dearest gratitude for attending this press conference announced at the last-minute. Based on the preliminary evidence gathered, I believe that it is sufficient enough for me, the Court Justice to declare that a court trial will be conducted 48 hours from this moment. This trial will be based on the custody of Ahn Jeong-sae, the heiress of the Ahn Corporation. Other details are to be privatized for the meantime until a final decision is made. That is all for now, thank you for your time."

After the press conference, hundreds of news reports start to storm the internet just like a Kim Kardashian issue. Meanwhile, one of these reports has surprisingly caught the attention of her father. This comes from the tvK Channel (티비케이 채널). The reporter says:

"Good Afternoon, Ladies and Gentlemen. Moments ago, Local Court Justice Jung Jin-myeon has announced that a new court trial will be opened 48 hours from now. This is regarding the custody of ever-famous Ahn Jeong-sae, the well-known heiress of the Ahn Corporation. Well, it appears that other details are to be hidden from the public until the case closes. We'll just see if what the prosecutor will say days from now. Could she have been living a life of modern slavery or just bewildered with what she has to cope being part of such a prominent family? This is Kang Jeon-kyu, signing off."

After the report, he decides to hire a private investigator through communication with his glorified secretary immediately. Moments after the secretary leaves his suite, he murmurs the words: "I won't let that bastard ruin my plans to use my daughter against her."
