Chapter 5

Em’s POV
The bus came to a creaky halt at my stop. I got up waving at Ginny who grinned and got off the bus. I sat on a stranger’s wall as I waited for Craig. I was sat there less than ten seconds when he stepped out in the warm air (it was the hottest day so far!) with Jase in tow. I grinned at them as they jumped off. Jase had been walking home with us every day for the past week and after doing my homework and chores we would go to the beach together.
“Hey.” I said jumping off the wall and walking just slightly in front of them. They stepped in either side of me with Craig next to the road.
“Hey.” Jase said smiling.
“Hi.” Craig said a little subdued.
“What’s the matter Craigy?” I said elbowing his ribcage.
“Nothing, just had maths and English.” He rubbed his forehead which was now furrowed.
“Uh... so did we.” I pointed my finger at me and then Jase and then back at me and then back at Jase. Maths was really, well not awkward as such, just... Sammie had come up to Jase last week and did a public humiliation dumping session and was now trying her shots at Seth who I think actually liked Sammie if that is possible. In maths it was awkward she still sat next to Jase but decided to talk really loudly to some girls next to her about how Seth was amazing and other things which are untrue and I wish I never had heard them. And I was still getting messages but this time they were slipped through the grating in my locker. There was now a pile of screwed up pieces of paper on the top of my locker.
“Yeah, well I had Parsons and then Parker.” He closed his eyes and shuddered.
“Ooooh.” Jase said on the other side of me. I looked at him, he looked like he was in actual pain and he wasn’t taking the piss. I burst out laughing at the drama these boys were making. “You’ve never had either of them, have you?” I shook my head. “Parsons is like a blood sucker-”
“And Parker is a soul sucker.” Craig finished before shuddering again.
“So what you’re saying is; we have teachers who are vampires and dementors?” I rolled my eyes and sighed out a laugh. “What about werewolves? Have we got any of them?”
“It has to be Miss Bayton.” Jase said smiling; I looked up at him in confusion. She was my old English lit teacher and yeah she’d been a bitch to me and everyone else who wasn’t so smart they should be in Talented and Gifted but she wasn’t the worst there. “Oh come on; haven’t you noticed her eyebrows!” I laughed and covered my mouth trying to stop myself.
“Okay I think we should stop being bitchy.”
