"Isn't she lovely made from love." Louis gaped as Harry finished his song, clapping 10 times louder than anyone else in the audience, he was sure. Wow. Just... wow. That was... wow. I mean- He was interrupted by Nicole's voice, praising him for singing acapella. Then the next judge, Louis (we'll call him Louis #2), started saying something about how Harry was too inexperienced, and Louis was surprised that there wasn't steam coming out of his ears. That's some bullshit, he did amazing. Luckily, Simon said yes, and so did Nicole, so Harry had made it.

Louis was beaming. He felt... proud, somehow. Even though he had only known the younger boy for a few hours, he felt like he needed to protect and care for him and-

"He was okay, I guess," Hannah interrupted his thoughts. Louis looked at her with a puzzled look on his face.

"Okay? He was... incredible. Actually, I'm going to go find him and tell him how well he did, alright?" He didn't wait for an answer, walking off and keeping his eyes peeled for a certain curly boy.

Upon seeing the grinning boy backstage, Louis felt his cheeks turning pink, he was just so... irresistible. He was hugging a woman who must have been his mom, laughing and being his adorable self, and Louis felt his mouth fall wide open as he watched.

He finally made eye contact with Harry, who started speed walking over to him. Louis tried to think of something clever to say, but he was at a loss for words. Harry's performance had been so outstanding, that Louis just couldn't describe it. It was... it was better than words.

"Y-you didn't tell me you could sing that well, I mean... wow." Louis shook his head and whistled. It might have seemed a bit exaggerated, but Louis really was in awe. This boy's voice was so incredible, and he was so young. Louis was still getting over wanting to punch Louis #2 in the face, I mean, how could you say no to him???, and his own rapidly approaching audition was starting to make him very nervous.

Then Harry smiled.

For reasons that Louis didn't yet understand, Harry's wide, dimpled grin flipped some sort of switch within him. When Harry smiled, the world smiled with him. His eyes lit up and his dimples appeared, and he looked so... breathtaking.

Louis was so glad that the two of them were becoming friends.

Harry blushed again. "Thanks! That means a lot, thank you," he said, smiling. And... wow. He was so adorable. If Louis were a girl, he'd be smitten with this boy. But he was straight, and he had no doubt about that. I mean, I have a girlfriend. I love her... so I'm straight. Obviously. No doubt. I'm straight. Harry's just... just a friend. If that.

Louis realized that Harry was changing something within him, and he needed to get away, quick, or something big would shift, permanently.

"Alright, well, I think I'm on in a few, wish me luck," Louis blurted out. He started walking away, but before leaving, he noticed Harry's expression. He almost looked... disappointed? No, no way. He probably doesn't even care. I mean nothing to him... right?

Before Louis could process his feelings towards that conversation with Harry, he was being pulled to the stairs that led up to the stage. Shit, this is happening, like... now. Shit. All the nerves that Louis had been lacking all day were suddenly kicking in. He was shaking, but he jogged up the stairs to the stage, waving at the audience as he crossed over to the microphone.

"And what's your name?" Simon questioned.

"I'm Louis. Louis Tomlinson." He looked out into the crowd, searching for... well, he wasn't sure. But then when he saw Harry, he felt a fluttering feeling in his stomach, and he figured that his subconscious must have been looking for that familiar face. He quickly went through the rest of his introduction, then he heard the opening chords to the song he'd be singing, Hey There Delilah, and opened his mouth to sing.

For the first verse, he was shaking, incredibly anxious, but then he looked in the direction of where he had seen Harry, and when he made eye contact with the grinning, curly haired boy, his nerves melted away.

He sang the final notes of the song, and was met with thunderous applause. Even though the applause was incredibly loud, there was one voice that stood out to Louis. Harry was standing, whooping and cheering as he beamed at Louis, and once again, Louis felt that fluttering feeling in his stomach.

Much to his surprise and delight, Louis got a yes from each judge, and he smiled from ear to ear, up until he saw Hannah waiting offstage. For some reason, seeing her immediately killed the butterflies that Louis kept feeling. Huh. It should be the other way around, though, shouldn't it? You're just being stupid, you love Hannah. You do, you love her. He wasn't sure why he had to reassure himself so much, but it seemed like he wasn't convinced, so he sprinted up to her, scooping her dainty hand up into his own... not much less dainty.

He let his mind wander as he walked towards the building's exit, hand in hand with Hannah. When they were just outside the door, Louis spotted a familiar face. Harry! I'll go say goodbye to him. But Hannah had other plans. She narrowed her eyes at Harry and yanked Louis in her direction. Louis turned around briefly, but Harry was looking the other way, and Louis felt like calling out to him might make Hannah even more angry.

That night, Louis was laying in bed, unable to fall asleep. He couldn't get his mind off of the day's events. More truthfully, he couldn't get his mind off of Harry.

He tried to think about something, anything, other than Harry, but it wasn't working. He had known the boy for a grand total of 6 hours, but there was just... something about him. And whatever that something was, Louis didn't know how he had survived without it.
