Harry had been standing in line for hours. Well, that's how he felt, at least. It had probably only been about 45 minutes, but he was restless, unable to stand still, and unable to shut his mouth, not even for 10 seconds. He wasn't nervous, necessarily, he was just so full of energy that he couldn't keep it all inside. He had been talking his mom's ear off for the past week about this audition, and it had only gotten worse since they arrived at Manchester Central. Luckily, Anne was probably the most supportive mother you could possibly wish for. While he rambled on and on, she just smiled and ruffled his hair like she had when he was a little boy. As calm as Anne was, Harry felt like he had was losing his mind. He began to bounce around on the balls of his feet, the nerves finally starting to kick in.
A few minutes later, Harry had calmed down a bit, but he still had loads of energy. He quickly glanced around at his competition, noticing that there were a few people around his age, but none of them looked too intimidating. In fact, he had already sort of become friends with one of them, an energetic blonde boy who couldn't seem to wipe the huge grin off of his face. He had introduced himself as Niall, and the two boys hit it off right away. They talked for about another half hour, when Harry suddenly realized he needed to pee. Really, really bad.
"Mum... mum, do you know where the loo is, I've... uh, I've really got to go," Harry whispered frantically. His mom just laughed and pointed down the hallway towards the bathroom. Harry sprinted towards where Anne had pointed, feeling his face get hotter as he realized that everyone around him was staring at him, the awkward 16 year old that was jogging down the hallway, trying to make it to the restroom before... Harry cringed just thinking about what would happen if he did that. After what felt like an eternity, he finally reached the bathroom, and ran inside, fumbling with his trousers and finally... relief. Well, until he heard a loud noise directly behind him, the bathroom door slamming closed. He whipped around, not realizing that he wasn't completely emptied out yet, and managed to splash a bit of his pee on the floor below him.
"Oops..." he muttered, stooping down to clean up his mess, and forgetting completely about the loud noise that had caused the whole thing.
"Hi." Harry almost broke his neck with how fast he looked up, and his breath hitched upon seeing what was standing above him. What he saw looking back at him was what Harry could only describe as the most beautiful boy he had ever laid eyes upon. He quickly straightened his back, now just about face to face with this incredibly attractive boy, and he was at a loss for words.
"Erm... I... uh... h- hi." Harry looked down in embarrassment, his cheeks burning bright red as he averted his eyes from the gorgeous boy in front of him. When he looked up, he saw two piercing blue eyes staring back at him, and a grin plastered over the boy's face.
"I'm Louis, and you are?" He held out his hand for Harry to shake it, and Harry felt his heart race as he made contact with this strange boy for the first time.
"Wow," Harry sighed as the boy, Louis, firmly grasped his hand. Louis began to laugh, pulling away from Harry's hand.
"Your name is Wow? I can't say I've heard that one before." He chuckled as Harry began blushing profusely and averting his eyes.
"I... shit, did I say that out loud? Sorry, I'm... erm, I do that kind of thing sometimes, I'm... uh... not so great in social situations. I'm... um, I'm Harry, not Wow. You're wow. I mean... er... that's why I said wow, you're wow. No, I... I mean... you're not wow. Well yeah, you are wow... but not like that. I just mean... like, I'm not wow, I'm Harry. Erm... yeah, I'm Harry." He looked down at his toes, feeling his cheeks flushing hot pink.
Louis giggled, and Harry resisted saying "wow" again. His laugh must have been contagious, because Harry began cracking up as well. Once the two boys were through with their laughing fits, Harry grinned at Louis.
"Sorry, I promise I'm not always this awkward, I'm just... nervous. And you're... very...erm...attractive... I, uh, I've got to... um... okay, could I start over?" Louis just giggled and nodded eagerly. "Okay, hi. I'm Harry. It's very nice to meet you. Sorry I got pee on your shoes." Louis laughed, a loud, adorable laugh that left Harry speechless, not that he really thought he should keep talking.
"10 out of 10 introduction, I hope that's how you introduce yourself to everyone. Well, I'll see you around, Haz." Louis shook his head, chuckled, and walked out of the bathroom, waving to Harry.
HAZ????? You've got to be fucking kidding me. God, Harry thought (in his head this time), that fucking laugh. That fucking boy. Wow. And as he thought of the crinkles by Louis's eyes when he smiled, the way he had said "Haz" instead of Harry, he felt his heart racing, and his trousers tightening.
All he could think was, Shit. Not again.
