"I found God on the corner of First in Amistad
Where the west was all but won."

Maya paused after she sang that, her fingers brushing against the piano keys as she took a shaky breath in. It was no surprise that she had ended up in here after the confrontation with her father. She had to get all of her feelings out somehow and singing always was the best way to do that.

"All alone
Smoking his last cigarette."

Maya looked up from the keys and her subconscious took over and continued to play as Maya seemed to be singing to no one in particular. Her face scrunched up as she gave the face she would when actually asking a question.

"I said where you been?
He said, ask anything."

Maya sat for a moment and closed her eyes before letting out a sigh. Her closed eyes squeezed shut as she continued singing.

"Where were you
When everything was falling apart?
All my days
Spent by the telephone
That never rang
And all I needed was a call
That never came
From the corner of First and Amistad."

She didn't even hesitate before singing the next part, not even noticing the sound of footsteps coming down the hallway and towards the music room.

"Lost and insecure
You found me, you found me
Lying on the floor
Surrounded, surrounded
Why'd you have to wait?
Where were you, where were you?
Just a little late
You found me, you found me."

The door opened slightly, but Maya didn't notice. She was too into the music and as she got to the next verse, she couldn't help but think of her mother.

"In the end
Everyone ends up alone
Losing her
The only one who's ever known
Who I am, who I'm not, and who I wanna be
No way to know
How long she will be next to me."

A tear slid down her face as thoughts of her mother swirled in her head. The last time she had been this emotional over her mother had been when Tony disappeared and she had lost her second parent. Now wasn't really any different. She may not have lost Tony physically, but the relationship they had had before the battle had been damaged and it felt just as bad as losing him for real.

"Lost and insecure
You found me, you found me
Lying on the floor
Surrounded, surrounded
Why'd you have to wait?
Where were you, where were you?
Just a little late
You found me, you found me."

She could sense him now. He wasn't very good at hiding himself and the fact that he had fully stepped into the room now without a care in the world wasn't helping. Her eyes flickered up to meet her father and Tony almost flinched at the cold stare she gave him.

"Early morning
City breaks
I've been calling
For years and years and years and years
And you never left me no messages."

She spat the lyrics out at him, but her voice was still perfect. Hatred, anger, and hurt was evident in her face as she almost screamed at him through the music while still holding her tone.

"You never send me no letters
You got some kind of nerve
Taking all I want."

Her eyes closed as she belted out that last line before she fell silent. She slowly opened her eyes and took in shaky breaths as she softly played the piano.
