Early in morning the alarm goes off in our ears and as usual, most of us naturally press the snooze button to catch up on a little more sleep.Buzz buzz buzz
Just as I roll over to snooze my alarm again, all I hear is Amy shouting."Get up all you lazy brats. Do you wanna go to Queensland or not? You've all snoozed your alarms like three times already. Get up or I'll have to drag each one of you off your beds".
Whining, all of us scramble out of our beds and somehow manage to be on our feet. It didn't take all of us long to get ready and be in the dining area for breakfast.
"Oh come on, I can't even open my eyes, how am I going to drive?", whines Zoe. "Oh shit wait. How the hell are we all gonna get in the car? There are 6 of us and I have a mini 5 seater car." Zoe is panicking at this stage.
"Well luckily someone has a brain and decided to rent a 7 seater car last night because they knew the others won't be prepared", Amy says sarcastically.
"We knew we could always count on you. Like I said before, you're like the mother of this group", added Hazel.
As time was getting closer to start our trip I was getting more and more nervous of what this trip may have in stock for me, or moreover, for all of us.
Few hours went by and all of us were on our way out of Melbourne.
"Don't you just love the sunrise. The beautiful colours that represent many things. The sky just looks so open like it's waiting for you to unfold your days that are full of surprises", I express.
"You know Allena, I think I agree with you. The colours just look so calm and peaceful. It's as if-"
Just before Crissie could finish her sentence the whole car his filled with blaring music.
"WHAT THE HELL ZOE. IT'S BLOODY 7:45 IN THE MORNING. TURN THAT GODDAMN THING DOWN", shouted Gracie.
If there is one thing that you should definitely keep in mind about Gracie it's that DO NOT ruin her mornings.
"Well I'm sorry, I can't drive a damn car with people sleeping, AND ONE PARTICULARLY NEXT TO ME!" shouts Zoe in Hazel's ear.
"Huh, what- what happened?" Hazel asked confused.
"What do you mean what happened? If you wanna go to sleep go to the boot, I can't drive when the person next to me is sleeping", Zoe shouts.
A couple of hours go by and we spend our time either listening to the blasting music in the car, or looking out the window, taking in all our surroundings. Half of us were dozing off in between and of course, Zoe wouldn't let that happen, she just turned the music up even more.
"We have been driving for like 4 hours, can we stop at some place to eat? I am starving", exclaimed Crisse.
"Well I told you not to miss your breakfast didn't I?" replies Amy.
"Okay, okay, no need to argue, I'll see if I can find somewhere to stop until then both of you just shut up", says Zoe.
"Honey we have been driving on a road for several hours were we haven't even seen one single shop. Where are we going to find a place to eat?" asks Hazel.
"You know what, I have driven to Queensland a long time back though and there is this little kebab shop that comes somewhere along this road. I just don't know if it's still there anymore", I say.
"Well let's hope it is otherwise someone will die in hunder", Gracie laughs.
A few moments later we hear Crisse shout. "Hey is that the shop you were talking about Allena?"
Up ahead we see this little shop approaching and it looks like the one I went to before.
"Yeah I think it is", I respond.
"OMG yes. Finally we can get out of this car for a while", states Zoe. "And after lunch, Hazel you are driving okay".
"Yeah sure I'd like to go behind the wheel for a bit", she responds.
While all of were enjoying our lunch we hear something unexpected. A guy walks right into the restaurant and shouts "DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE THE NEAREST PETROL STATION IS?"
All of us freak out with the sudden burst of noise and then someone responds, "Yes I think the nearest petrol station from here is about a 45 minute drive. I could just see the disappointment in that guys face. He looked so helpless yet irritated at the same time.
"Jeez he's hot", Hazel says. "Should we try and help?"
Before we can say anything to her she shouts at him, "Hey where are you heading?"
"I was actually just driving up to Queensland for the weekend and my car decided to breakdown", he responds.
Before Hazel says something we already know what she is about to spit out.
"Oh great! We are heading there as well. We could give you a lift, we also have an extra seat at the back".
I give Hazel a glare. I am the only one sitting at the back and now this dude is gonna come and sit next to me.
"Umm yeah sure if all of you girls don't mind", he asks.
"No none of us mind", Hazel answers for us as usual.
So great. I just went through a breakup and now I have to share the back seat with this dude who I don't even know. Great start to the trip. I wonder what will happen next.
