"I dare you to call your ex right now and say as many insults that come to your mind", he says.
I just stare at him blankly. "You can't be serious right now", I say.
"Oh I am damn serious. Trust me you'll feel amazing after you have done it".
Obviously, knowing me. I am never in the right headspace. So I decide to do it anyway. Besides, I had nothing to lose.
I dial his number and for the next 30 minutes I am on the phone swearing at him with any word that comes to my mind. I don't even let him say a thing. And Krish was right, by the end of it. I felt amazing.
"How do you know this works?" I ask him.
"Well maybe because I have tried this after being in a similar situation", he replies.
"You have also had someone cheat on you?" I ask.
"Yep. But mine wasn't as recent as yours. It was about eight months ago", he says. "And I didn't actually catch her red handed like you did. She just told me that she was fed up of our relationship and she wanted someone different. Ever since then, I have never brought myself up to like a girl in a long time."
"In a long time?" I ask. "That means that you have someone on your mind."
"No, not exactly. I don't even know her that well, so I can't really say if I like her", he responds.
"Fair enough", I say.
Before we know it we were doing weird truths and dares before we dozed off to sleep.
IN THE MORNING PRESENT
As I am driving, I can sense the awkwardness between me and Krish. As I look up to the rear view mirror I always catch him staring at me. I get so lost in my thoughts that I can't even concentrate on my driving.
"Oi, watch it!" Gracie shouts as she leans over to grab the wheel.
"Sorry", I say.
"Look I don't think you got a good night's sleep", she says, and me and Krish stare at each other."Go to the back and get some rest".
Obviously, right at the back Zoe and Hazel are asleep which leaves the middle row where Krish is. Argh why do I always get put near him. I ask Crisse to go forward and Amy to scoot to the middle. Krish shoots me a confused look as to why I am not sitting near him. I try my best not to look, making him realise that we accidently got close enough last night and I need to distance myself from him.
It is actually kind of scary how I feel so comfortable around him. He is still a stranger and if the girls find out that I was with him in his car last night, god knows the assumptions that they are bound to make.
After hours of driving, awkward conversations and extremely uncomfortable situations, we are finally in Queensland. We head to drop off Krish to his home and of course, Hazel just being Hazel asks for his number.
"You might want to give us your number, just in case you need a ride back to Melbourne", she says.
Unfortunately, as I was the one with my phone out at the time I had to get his number and he got mine. Just as I go to press delete on his number, my phone is jolted out of my hands. Next thing I notice is that Zoe has my phone and has sent the number to all the girls.
"Why would you do that?" I ask.
"Because knowing you, you would have pressed delete as soon as you got the chance", she replied.
I hate that my friends know me so well sometimes.
After an hour or two and a lot of wrong turns, we manage to get to our hotel. As soon as we reach our room, we open our curtain and the view is astonishing. A beautiful sunset, the beach right in front of you and a pool right below.
We are disrupted by our thoughts as we hear our bags being unzipped.
"Well isn't that good that we packed our bathers right on the top?" Crisse says, throwing our bathers to us.
"Wait, are we going for a swim right now?" Amy asks.
"Yup, I am extremely tired of sitting in a car for several hours", says Crisse.
Without a minute wasted, all of us change and rush downstairs to the pool.
"Jeez what a drive that was", Hazel says.
Yes I think to myself, what a drive that was. I just hope that I don't have to cross paths with Krish anymore, anywhere else. Once was sufficient.
But obviously, knowing my life. It's full of shocks and surprises so of course, I was bound to meet him again.
