A Torturous Turf War (Part 2)

Riley ran left, Jay ran right, and Gaven ran center while G-man and Jose covered the base. They were making fast progress, but Colt was waiting for the right time to strike. When Jay and Riley were far enough away, Colt jumped from his hiding spot, and splatted Gaven.

"Ouch!" Gaven said, as he respawned.

"Wow, it actually worked!" Said Colt. "I need to give Shelldon and Axel more credit..."

He then took rapid shots at the turf Gaven has taken, claiming it for himself. He jumped into the ink, just as Gaven came charging back, with Jose and G-man for backup. As they walked by, Colt jumped up behind them. Gaven and Jose we're splatted instantly, while G-man took the wise route and jumped into his ink. The feeling was repulsive to him, but he circled back around Colt, and tried to hit him. What he didn't expect was for Colt to have anticipated this.

"Hey bud. Good idea, but I've been at this too long to fall for it." Said Colt, as he splatted G-man.

"Damn it, he's too good!" Moaned Jose in irritation.

"You're lucky it's only me." Colt yelled.  "A one v five gives you guys a chance, if you work together as well as you have been."

"We can't beat him head on..." Thought G-man. "And we don't know where he was a usually, because he keeps turning into a squid... So how will we get around him to claim turf?"

"Guys! He-ack!" Jay said over the radio. He respawned moments later. "Ouch, that sucked."

Suddenly, a curling bond was tossed, hitting all of them as they stepped off the platform.

"Now that's just uncool!" Complained Jose. "How are we supposed to win this?"

"The joke is you aren't." Said Marie. "Colt is one of the top players, after all."

"That's just great, thanks." Said Jay.

"One minute left!" Said Callie, very excited.

"Welp, guess we try our best." Said Jose.

"Not like there's a point, but it's better than accepting defeat." Said Gaven.

Riley respawned behind them. "Guys, he is over there, so let's all run towards him. He would think we would go the other way, right?"

"Well, we don't have any better ideas." Said G-man.

The team ran towards Colt's last know location. He was right there.

"You guys know that reverse psychology is one of Shelly's talents, right?" He asked, smirking.

"No, we didn't." Said Jay. "No one did."

"Well, I thought someone would try this, but not the whole squad." Colt threw 2 curling bombs past the squad, and started firing on them. With no escape, all the humans were rapidly splatted, but Jose actually managed to land a hit by shooting wildly.

"Damn. Accident or not, only one in every 90 some opponents I fight have ever hit me." Said Colt. "Kudos, I guess."

"And that's game!" Shouted Callie. "I think we all know Colt won, but good try guys!"

"No matter how good the other teams are, I can't imagine how harsh fighting that guy and his whole team must be." Jay said.

"Usually everone targets Edge, so Axel hides behind him." Said Colt. "After all, Edge is no where near the level of skill we have, but he has guts, and is a tactical master. Hence why he is on the team. Honestly, since Axel joined us, we seem to fight many far tougher teams, but they still come nowhere near beating us."
