"i mean i completely understand if you don't wanna or if it's too soon." david says quickly not picking up my joking manner.
"calm down dave! of course. soooo what movie?" i ask.
"they are having a throwback day and playing dirty dancing and monster in law if you like those movies." david asks.
"seriously? those are my all time favorite old movies ! yesss let's do it !" i say enthusiastically.
"im so glad you said yes... i wanna take you somewhere." he says sweetly.
"david it's so late. are you sure you don't wanna go back home ? you look really tired." i look at him.
"yes b. im sure. i just wanna talk to you for awhile. i wanna get to know you more and you get to know me more." he says back not taking his eyes off the road.
we drive a while and i don't know where we are anymore. we aren't in the town anymore as we are on a backroad.
"you aren't taking me somewhere to murder me are you?" i say looking out the teslas window.
"you're exactly right m'lady." he laughs. "no. i have to show you something."
we keep driving and finally we stop. there is nothing in sight.
"david... where are we? i can't see for shit." i stare into the darkness scared.
"calm down. you're fine with me." he moved closer to me and slipped his hand in mine and became to rub me toward a trail.
"david. we are not hiking at 3 in the morning." i say trying to pull him back.
"cmon you big baby it's not a long walk and it's worth it." he looks back and smiles still tugging me along.
i roll my eyes and shuffle my feet trying to keep up with david. we make a complete stop and and look up and stare out over the beautiful lit up los angeles.
"wow david this is beautiful." i say still gazing over the town.
we walk to some lawn chairs sitting at the end.
"so i have a question..." david turns to me.
"shoot. im an open book." i say back.
"do you still have feeling for your ex boyfriend in london?" he asks hesitantly.
"i will always love him no matter what. but i had to get over him. it wasn't healthy for me. so yes and no at the same time. he will always have a part of my heart. he was my first real love." i say back. "how about liza? y'all seemed so serious."
"well. we didn't fall out of love or anything we just couldn't find the time we used to and she just needed a break to find herself. but im getting over her more and more every day.... actually i hope im not over stepping but meeting you has helped me so much." he grins.
"good. it's not healthy to hold onto someone." i prop my legs up on his lap.
we sit there talking for hours. finally the sun starts to rise. david gives me a piggy back ride to the car. we get into his car and start driving. i curl up in the passenger seat and drift off to sleep. david gently shakes me awake.
"hey you." he stares at my sleepy eyes.
"dammit david. my keys are in your house will you please go get them for me ?" i complain.
"bailey. you are not driving home. you are too tired. come in and sleep." he says.
"that's not necessary ! really im fine. my car practically drives itself." i smile.
"come inside. b, you aren't driving." he grabs my hand and starts to pull me out.
i was too tired to be hardheaded.
"you can sleep in my bed ill take the couch." he leads me to his room and throws me a clickbait hoodie and some of his sweat pants. he begins to walk out.
"you know you don't have to sleep on he couch. just sleep here. it's no big deal." i say.
"you sure ?" he turns around.
"yes. come on." i laugh and pat the bed beside me.
he walks over and lays down. we drift off the sleep. i wake up to davids arms around my waist. he was fast asleep. i looked up at him sleeping so peacefully. i didn't want to wake him so i checked my watch quietly and then laid back down still in his arms. it was 4:23 in the afternoon. we had stayed up all night so we deserved to sleep this long.
not 30 minutes later as i was falling asleep again david begins to stir. i quickly fake sleep. i was expecting him to pull his arms from around me but he pulled me closer. finally he pulls his arms from around me and rolled out of his bed and got up. he went into his bathroom and started brushing his teeth. i roll over and yawn.
"well goodmorning sunshine !" david smiles.
"a good morning indeed." i laugh looking at my watch again.
"all of our friends are blowing up our phones" he says.
"yeah. i wonder why. we kinda went missing in action. im so surprised they didn't show up here like y'all did to my house that time." i roll my eyes.
"yeah that was crazy." he says.
"i think im gonna go home and get edit some pictures or something. but tonight we should go to a party somewhere." i say getting up and throwing my hair into a messy bun.
"sounds good. see you at 7:30 ?" he asks.
"yes. my place." i wave and walk out of his room. i jump into my car and take off.
i get home and begin to edit pictures. i decided to edit and post one of the pictures that david took of me when we went hiking the other day. i finish editing and open instagram.
