we arrived at the hospital and they pull her out on the stretcher and the medics begin to talk to the doctors.

"she has multiple blunt force traumas to her head back and abdomen. she has a subdural hematoma and potential brain bleeding and swelling." the medic said to the doctors.

i didn't know what half of what they were saying meant but i knew it couldn't be good. we all rushed into the emergency room. they began to work on her and were so focused on helping bailey that they didn't even notice luke and i standing at the window still inside the room.

"her abdomen is rigid. i need an ultrasound of the stomach. let me know if there is any free fluid present." one of the doctors say.

they begin to do an ultrasound when he nurse begins to speak

"umm doctor campbell you might want to come take a look at this.." she says and pulls the screen toward the doctor .

the doctor takes one look and his whole demeanor.

"the patient is pregnant! page pediatrics and tell them i need them now!" he demands at his team.

pregnant? she's pregnant? oh my god. my poor baby. oh i feel so guilty. i was the reason for all of this. if i wouldn't have gotten jealous bailey would be safe and so would our second child. we had no idea.

"is she going to make it?" i ask the doctor.

"she is stable for now and so is the baby but we still have to see if they can make it through the night. we really can't say right now. her body has a lot of stress from the accident and then from the baby.. you didn't know about the baby? she is almost about to start showing she's so far along. she would have had to have known by now." the doctor asks meaningfully.

"I had no idea sir.. this is so much information. i can't begin to comprehend." i say back to him.

"I completely understand sir. but you are her power of attorney. you will have to make all the medical decisions while she is still unresponsive. i know its a lot to take in but my team and i will be right beside you through this whole process." he lays a hand on my shoulder reassuring me.

"thank you sir." i say bowing my head into my knees.

I actually cannot comprehend all of this right now. I need to call all of my friends and let them know what all is going on. I decide to call zane first since that is baileys best friend here. I pick up the phone and dial his contact. it rings a few seconds and he picks up.

"hey man. what's up?" zane says loudly into the phone.

"I need to to come to the hospital Bailey and I were in a pretty bad wreck. I was wearing my seatbelt but she wasn't and got thrown through the windshield." I say into he phone.

all I hear back is silence.

"are you okay? who are you with? can you gather up a group and come down? I will call Corinna and get her to bring some people too. Bailey is gonna need a good support system when she wakes up." I say

"yeah. for sure. David dude she has the worst luck ever. why didn't she have her seatbelt on? and Luke how is he?" he asks

"ill explain everything when everyone gets here. Luke is fine I think they took him for observation but he should be okay" I say back'

"are you okay though?" he asks me

"yeah I'm a little sore but its nothing too bad. I might have to get a few stitches." I say back

"okay im gonna stop by your house and grab y'all some clothes and yalls toothbrushes and such" zane says back

"thanks zane you are the best" I say back and hang up the phone.

next I call Corinna. she automatically picks up.

"hey David! how did the family pictures go?" she says

"about that. we were on the way there and we got into an accident. I was wearing my seatbelt Luke was in his carseat but Bailey didn't have her seatbelt on. she got thrown through the windshield.." I couldn't say anything else because she cut me off.

"DAVID BAILEY IS PREGNANT. YOU NEED TO GO TELL THE DOCTORS RIGHT THIS SECOND." she screams over the phone.

"you knew? they found out on their own and told me. it was news to me." I question her.

"yes oh my god. she was planning to tell you when y'all got the family pictures done and get your reaction on camera." she whines into the phone.

"oh god. this is so bad its all my fault." I say back.

"I'm coming soon. how are you and Luke?"

"we are both okay just sore. just get here quick. I can't do this alone." I say back to her

"okay good. I will be there soon. take care of her." she says we say bye and hang up

I grab baileys hand and squeeze it.

"I don't know if you can hear me or not but I love you and I trust you one hundred percent. I need you to be okay b. I can't live without you love. you are the love of my life. Luke needs his mom and our new baby needs you. I need you. We all need you."

I say laying my head on her bed.

I hear foot steps approaching, I look up and see zane, jason, and heath walk in.

"holy shit David..." heath says.

they walk deeper into the room and Jason puts his hand on my back.

"she's going to be okay man. she has to be. she's Bailey she's strong. this isn't the first bad thing that's happened to her. she's going to pull through this." Jason says to me.

"thanks jay, its just scary. what if she's had enough of all of the hardships she's been through she's so strong but someone can only be so strong."

zane was on the other side of the bed holding her other hand.

"zane im sorry this is all my fault. i wasn't paying well enough attention to the road and we had gotten into an argument. I know that's your best friend and I'm so sorry" I say to zane who hasn't said a word.

"its okay you didn't do it on purpose. things happen. she will make it through the night and make it through the surgeries." zane said looking up at me.

I couldn't hold it back anymore. I burst into tears. Jason tightens his hand on my shoulder.

"its gonna be okay man. its all going to work out for good." heath says to me.

I knew I had to tell them, I had to calm down and tell them about the pregnancy.

"sh..shes..." I uncontrollably sobbed. "she's pregnant again."

"wh..what?" zane staggers out. "she didn't tell me I'm her best friend."

I was finally able to speak without sobbing.

"Corinna was the only one who knew. The reveal was today. She was going to tell me during our family photoshoot and catch it all on camera. but look where we've ended up." I sighed.

"Is the baby going to be okay?" Heath asks.

"The doctors says as long as Bailey makes it through the night and all the surgeries go well she and the baby should make a full recovery." I answer him.

Everyone decided to try to get some sleep since tomorrow was going to be a long day. Since it was so late the girls decided to come tomorrow morning. Jason and I shared the window seat and heath and zane slept in the chairs by baileys bed.
