today was the day i went to my first pregnancy appointment. i was so incredibly nervous and excited. david held my hand as we walked in. he squeezed my hand super tight and smiled the biggest smile.
"we get to see our kiddo for the first time !" he says so excitedly.
"i knowwww. im so ready!" i smile back.
we check in and sit down and i couldn't stop shaking my leg. they call my name and i take a deep break and get up and start walking towards the woman. david grabs my hand because he could tell how nervous i was. we went through all of he hallways to a triage room where they just did my vital signs. afterwards, the nice lady led me to an actual exam room and told us the doctor would be in soon. the doctor finally walks in.
"hi! im doctor humpries! you must be bailey! its nice to meet you!" she smiles as the washes her hands and shakes my hand.
"yes ! it's nice to meet you !" i smile back.
she then looks to david.
"ah you must be dad i assume." she says.
"yes ma'am!" david says enthusiastically.
"okay are you ready you see your baby?" she asks happily.
"yes!" me and david both say at the same time.
she pulls my shirt up exposing my flat stomach (for now) and puts the gel on my belly. she then takes the ultrasound wand and begins to rub around until i start to hear a soft and constant beating. i look at the screen and see mine and davids tiny baby forming inside of me. i feel tears start to form around my eyes. i hadn't realized but david had come closer and was squeezing my hand tightly. i looked over at him and saw tears streaming down his face with a huge smile on his face. that's when i lost it. all my emotions came over. the waterworks were turned on.
"bailey. that is our little baby" he says grinning.
"i knowwww." i swoon and sniffle.
after the doctor finished everything she gave me prenatal vitamins and told me all the things i needed to know about pregnancy. david and i got done and we got in the car with high spirits. david puts his hand on my thigh and looks over at me.
"so how are we going to tell people ?" he asks.
"let's wait until i start showing and then surprise everyone.. or when we get a good ultrasound picture." i say.
"yessss! you think just like me." he laughs.
"ugh im so happy david!" i smile.
"i love you so much bailey." he grabs my hand.
"i love you so much too david." i squee his hand back.
"who should we tell first ?" i ask later.
"uhhhh. how about... well you and zane are close so we can tell him, then jason. then the others." he says. "sound good?"
"sounds very good love!" i smile back.
after a month i was showing a little and we went back to the doctor more and got a really good ultrasound picture of mine and davids child. we were on the way to pick zane up and tell him. i was wearing a cropped shirt so you could kind of see my stomach. zane got in the car and david looks back at him.
"so we have to tell you something.." david looks at him and giggles and hands him the envelope with a note inside.
"david. why am i scared to open it." he asks scared.
"just do it you baby." i laugh.
