Ming Yu woke up and the first thing he saw was the man's handsome face in-front of him.

He didn't think much and rested his palm on the man's forehead to check if he was chilled by the cold night.

"No fever..." This move woke the man up and raised a hand to gently remove his hand away but still held on to it. Ming Yu stiffened when he met the man's eyes but gazed back, not shying from it.

His charming eyes were like deep whirlpools that gave an impression that it wished take away his thoughts. Despite so, Ming Yu gently removed his hand from his hold and touched his forehead again just to make sure that he was fine.

"You're well..." Ming Yu grabbed some bread from his bag and handed it over to him.

"Eat." Stranger sir, please eat.

When the man lightly brushed against Ming Yu's fingers, he felt the lingering heat on his forehead again.

The atmosphere is pretty much a repeat of last nights meal and no one talked.

After eating, Ming Yu stood up, packed his stuff away and was ready to leave.

"Wait." the man finally spoke up making Ming Yu stop.

"I'll take you there." He didn't take too much time and changed out of his black outer robe into Ming Yu's blue robe. Like this, the sharp look in his eyes softened a bit and one could easily mistake him as another charming scholar. "you're heading to the Xi Capital, right?"

Ming Yu didn't reply and stared, unsure of the man's intentions in escorting him.

"As thanks" He didn't want Ming Yu to wonder for long and explained. The author nodded his head since there was no harm in it and believed this was the Admin's doing to ensure his safety.

[Admin: Are you forgetting how a group of assassins had been looking for him? And also, you're overthinking. I didn't plan this out.]

Ming Yu: "..."

[Admin: To be honest, i'm currently punishing you so I intentionally made you take the longest way to the Capital.]

[Ming Yu: "..."] Reading this. Ming Yu couldn't hide his frown and the grip on his bag tightened and felt the growing brain on his forehead.

[Admin: Don't be mad. If you stayed inside that carriage you would've been sabotaged by bandits. So continue trusting me.]

Admin... you're not convincing at all.

Ming Yu sighed and left the cave with the man walking beside him.

"If you're thinking about those assassins, they should be dead by now so don't worry."

Ming Yu kept his silence and didn't ask how since the eerie yet pleasant smile on the man's face was kind of creepy.

"Call me Chang Le." the man finally introduced himself. The author paused his steps before turning to Chang Le and have a good look of his face. After a while did, Ming Yu nodded his head and resumed his walk.

"... Ming Yu." The journey to the Capital now consisted of two people.

With Chang Le by his side, the travel was more comfortable. Chang Le's knowledge of analyzing the terrain became a huge help when looking for soft ground to rest. Food and water was now secure and the longer Ming Yu spent his time together with him, the more he appreciated the man.
