"Hey, you said Arthur would be coming with us. Where is he?", I asked Sierra, who was struggling with her chain which got entangled in her blonde hair. "Actually, Arthur had just been assigned to another project in some other place. So he called Sam and told him that he wouldn't be able to come", she replied. Weird....

"Talk about coincidence...", I shrugged and looked outside the window. "Tell me about it. Anyway, have you gone to this villa before?" She peered at me questioningly with her sharp green eyes.

"No. Samuel told that this villa was a gift from one of his friends who settled down in Sicily. Since we never used to go on vacations together, I don't know what it looks like", I answered her a little sadly. I wish I could've visited a lot of places with him.

"Don't worry, now you're gonna experience a lot of new things together!", she chirped and swatted my shoulder playfully. Is she psychic? "How do you know I was thinking about that?", I frowned and rubbed my shoulder. "Uh..... cause I'm a psychiatrist?", she shrugged and looked outside.

I sighed in resignation and looked outside my window. She has always been able to tell what I'm thinking. I turned to my side to look at Samuel. He was looking straight ahead, his attention on the road. His sapphire blue orbs were covered by shades. Wow.... he looks so serious when he's driving. His jaw twitched slightly from time to time and his muscles flexed with every movement he made. Damn! I'm lucky to have such a hot hubby!!

"Hey, are you hungry or something? Cause you're drooling", his voice snapped me out of my internal fangirling.

Yeah..... Hungry for you.... "Umm..... no, not really", I shrugged and wiped the damning evidence off my face. Awkward...... "Well, I have something on, so make yourself familiar with the villa. I'll be back by nightfall", he said, still looking at the road.

Samuel
".... 'Kay", she mumbled, staring at something in her hand absently. She's behaving strangely. "Okay, we're here", I announced and pulled into the driveway. The gravel crunched under the tires as the car proceeded to move up the driveway. Since I had some business in town, I had all the luggage taken out of the car by the helpers so that I could take the car. "Well, I'll be off then", I said and looked at Alice. But she was gazing at the beach with an indecipherable expression.

Le time skip👻👻
Alice
I know you've got the best intentions
Just trying to find the right words to say
Promise I've already learned my lesson

But right now I wanna be not okay
So tight sitting here waiting
If I hear one more "Just be patient"

It's always gonna stay the same
So let me just give up
So let me just let go

If this isn't good for me
Well I don't wanna know
Let me just stop trying

Let just stop fighting
I don't want your good advice
Or reasons why I'm alright
You don't know what it's like x2.....

"Hey.... stop singing depressing songs, will you?", an annoyed voice rang out from behind me and a palm made contact with the back of my head firmly.

"It's my wish. Or does it bother you, your Highness?", I retorted, rubbing the back of my head.

"Yes, my Queen", he replied. Not again. "Fine..... I'll not sing those songs", I sighed and fell back on the turf outside the side of the villa, which was facing the beach.

He chuckled slightly and followed suit. "What's that?", he asked pointing to my fist which had a thin silver chain dangling out of it. "This...... was mom's birthday present", I smiled ruefully and opened my palm, revealing a delicate orchid pendant.

"I had saved my yearly allowances to buy it. I was searching for a pink orchid pendant since it symbolised pure affection but that was waaaay out of my budget. So I had to settle for this cattaleya pendant."

I laughed at the memory of me rushing out of the jewellery makers place with a fearful expression because I was late for the surprise. "Yeah.... I remember that you were sitting on a bench, crying that you would be late. Then, I carried you on my back and ran all the way to your house. We just made it in time", he sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. After a few moments of silence, we burst out in fits of laughter.

"I..... *huff* stilll remember their expressions..... *huff* when they saw us in uniform", I huffed out, wiping a tear from my eye. I slowly sat up to look out at the beach. "How is her pendant in your hands?", he asked. "The....uh..... coroner gave it to me", I replied as the memory of the coroner handing me the envelope to me flashed across my mind. Immediately, hot tears pricked my eyes

"...... I'm sorry", he blurted out hesitantly. This will make me cry for real. "Me too........... me too", I sighed and wiped my eyes.

"Hey..... this place looks so....... surreal", I whispered in awe of the scenery before me.

"You can enjoy it any day  you want", he said from behind me

"You can enjoy it any day  you want", he said from behind me. What is he implying? "What..... do you mean?", I asked unsurely. I slowly turned around to see him sitting close to me, looking at me with a strange expression. So..... close. And this expression is making me feel so weird. "Take a guess", he smiled and got up to go back in. "Be back soon or I'll lock you out for the rest of the night", he shouted from the gates of the villa. Seriously, he's so hard to read! Being a professor in psychology does not help me read this guy's mind!
