"Laura? Shouldn't you be at school?" Deaton asked when she walking into the foyer.

"Something's come up" she told him, dismissing the previous question.

"I see" he responded, opening the gate that led to the back of the clinic, "Follow me".

Laura did as he said.

"So what's the issue" he asked, once they were out the back.

"Well Lyra is a mermaid" she told the vet.

"So I have heard" he said, "I hear you took her voice?"

"Yeah, that's actually what I came to see you about" she told him, "I trapped it in a crystal ball, and couldn't work out how to give it back. But yesterday, a girl at school smashed the orb, and sort of...took Lyra's voice".

"I'm assuming that this girl would now also possess Lyra's power?" Deaton said, keeping a poker face.

"I think so..." Laura responded, "Do you have any idea how to get it back?"

"It would be too risky to use the same method you used to take it from Lyra, because the girl isn't a mermaid, just possesses the power, it could have some unforeseen effects" he told her, "I would suggest waiting it out, the voice will eventually become dislodged, as a human can't contain that power for long. When it is released, it should return to Lyra without any issue".

Laura nodded slowly, "How long will that take?"

"Impossible to say" Deaton responded.

"Well then! I did some research the other day!" Betty said smartly to the Hale kids.

"Wait, you can read?!" Justin retorted.

Betty's nostrils flared, "Don't mess with me kid, do you have any idea what I am?"

"Alone obviously, where's you little fan club? Did you scare them away?" Callum responded.

"I don't need them anymore! I'm a mermaid!" she told them, flicking her hair behind her shoulder.

"And what makes you think that?" Adrian asked, trying to look bored, but worry started to show on her face.

"Well I took your little pet here's voice," she said, looking directly at Lyra, "And now I have all her power. That must be how you got everyone to like them, with your voice! Well now everyone will bow down to me!"

"Yeah, you're insane!" Abbey said, as the pack turned to walk towards the girls change room. School finished a while ago, and they were the only one's still there.

"Don't walk away from me!" Betty shouted, "So what are you all then? Whatever you are I will destroy you!"

James turned around, eyes glowing yellow, and pounced on her, pinning the shocked girl to a locker, "We're Werewolves! And if you don't cough up that voice soon, I will rip your throat out...with my teeth!"

As soon as it had started, James backed off, and walked into the girls change room, followed by the others. Betty poked her head into the room to see where the Hale family had gone, but they were no-where to be seen.

When Laura landed back on the front veranda, Derek walked out of the house, "You weren't gone long, what did you need to see Deaton about?".

"Oh, um...I felt a bit strange. I was just, um, checking that I was ok!" she responded, bolting up the stairs, and into her room. Derek just stood there for a moment, but looked up when he saw Stiles' Jeep pulling up. Despite Derek constantly telling Stiles to get a new car, he persistently said, "I'll never leave this Jeep".
