Point Place, Wisconsin

The following morning

The sound of the basement door wakes Hyde up. He smells the slightest hint of perfume beside him: a mix of lavender and freshly washed clothes.

He recognizes it, he knows the girl behind the scent.

It's Jackie.

Hyde's eyes open to her hair right next to his pillow. She's curled into a small ball. Her face looks peaceful, her lips parted slightly. Hyde's heart feels a familiar melting sensation. She's here. It's a whiplash.

He had forgotten how good she felt beside him, how painful it was to leave her side to begin with. Hyde had forgotten entirely how much he sacrificed. Shutting his eyes, holding the moment longer, not wanting to wake up.

"Kelso!" Hyde hears Donna yell. There's the sound of the TV and people conversing outside in the basement.

Hyde's eyes snap open.

"Damn." He mumbles, realizing that the current situation looks worse than it actually is.

"Mmm," Jackie murmurs, rolling over into his chest. Hyde's heart speeds up, he feels like a live wire inside him is being exposed "Steven." She breathes, and he resists the urge to comb his fingers through her hair.

"Shh." He coos. She snuggles deeper into his chest, "Jackie.." The restraint he has slowly dissipating.

"Steven?" Jackie's eyes widen at the sight of him, shock wanting to scream it's way out of her body. She's pulling herself out of his embrace, her body throbbing from the lack of warmth.

"Shh!" Hyde hushes her, stifling the whiplash of emotions. "They're outside." He says quietly.

Her whole body burns red, "Oh my god!" She barely whispers, her voice shaken and raspy. "What do we do!"

Hyde gets up from the bed slowly, taking careful steps toward the door, and leaning his head against it to hear. Hyde can recognize Kelso, Donna and Eric's voice.

"Shit." Hyde utters angrily, "Shit. This isn't good."

"Well..." Jackie swallows loudly, standing up. "We wait?"

"No!" Hyde whispers, shakes his head, pacing around. "This shouldn't have happened. You shouldn't have come." He says in an angry whisper.

Jackie doesn't respond. She shouldn't have come, she should have slept with Fez. She should just forget all about Hyde but he's everywhere, in everything, he's inside of her. He's consuming her entirely. It's his fault.

"It's your stupid fault! If you would have just taken me home and listened!" Jackie complains angrily, pouting and tossing her hair.

Hyde's eyes widen, anger flickering in his gaze. "Noo, it's your stupid fault Jackie if you wouldn't have pulled all that crap we wouldn't be in this problem." His lips form a line along with his brow.

Jackie rolls her eyes. "Whatever, Steven. You know I can't be accountable for my actions!"

He grunts a loud sigh, rubbing his hands over his face. "Just- shut up," Hyde mumbles, leaning against the door to listen.

"What are they saying!" She insists, putting her hands on her hips, tapping her foot impatiently."Well?"

"I can't hear if you keep yapping Jackie!" He glares at her. "Just- shh!"

Hyde listens to what's happening outside.

He can hear Eric, "Where's Hyde?"

"They're asking where I am..." Hyde repeats what he's hearing, "Um, they don't know but it sounds like- crap. Fez just walked in and I think-"
