"And...that's...The Big Dipper...possibly", Taylor says as she points to the dark, midnight sky.

Little lights. Millions of them dotted all over an everlasting blanket of infinity. Some twinkled, some didn't, some raced across the sky if we were lucky to spot them.

"I wish I could navigate with the sky", I sigh.

Taylor and I had taken to camping. It was early October. We were lying out under the constellations of the heavens on a chilly Sunday night, forgetting about what time it was and warming ourselves by a somewhat warm campfire.

"When would someone like you ever get lost, alone and at night though?"

"I'm unpredictable, Tay!", I smile.

Her features are moonlit, pale and soft against the light of the night time sun. Shadows emphasise her cheek and collar bones, making them appear sharper and more hollowed, her hair almost silver.

"Wanna go skinny dipping?", I ask.

"I'd rather not. Lake water and this skin doesn't match"

I groan, "So we're just gonna lie here?"

"I like this"

"...Change the subject then. Might as well make this conversation more fun than skinny dipping"

Taylor laughs, "What do you wanna talk about then, besides the stars, my darling?"

"Ew, don't call me darling"

"Honey bunch"

"No"

"Sweetie pie"

"Just stop"

"Sugar muffi-"

"Taylor!"

"That's my name, snuggle bunny"

"Ok, we're going skinny dipping", I say and stand up. My top is pulled over my head and soon followed by the rest of my clothes.

"Ella? Wait!"

I'm running towards the lake at the end of where we decided to camp.

"I'm waiting!", I call back before diving into the cold water.

Icy at first, I scramble my way back to the surface, my hair in my face, skin eventually adjusting to the harsh temperature.

I look around. Taylor's still at the camp.

"It's not that deep, Tay!"

"That's not what I'm worried about! I kind've like being warm!"

"You get used to it!"

"No!"

"Please??....snuggle bunny?"

"...I'll be a sec"

I lie back, floating on the skin of the lake. Lily pads disrupt my leisurely drift and I'm tangled in a mass of underwater stems.

"God dammit", I grunt.

There's a splash to my right, no one surfacing.

"...Taylor?"

The water ripples slightly but there's no sign of anything else. I attempt to glide over to see where she's gone but I'm still stuck.

"...Tay?"

A hand grabs at my leg. I scream before a blonde head bursts through the water.

"DONT EVER DO THAT", I yell, splashing water in her face.
