AN Ask from tumblr. here goes..somethin'..

---

"Ella where are you? The sergeant is going to kill me for waiting!"

"I'm coming! I just got dough-"

"You got doughnuts without me? Bring me one"

"I'm eating the last one"

"No! Why would you-"

Another voice joins the conversation. It's our sergeant. And he sounds angry. A few loud profanities echo through the phone and Taylor is forced to hang up. I step my foot down on the pedal and start making my way to the station. Coffee and cinnamon still flavours my mouth from this morning. The busy city rumbles past as I drive through the streets. Timid, paranoid faces watching me. I love this. I love how I make people feel with this uniform. Even though I truly am not an intimidating person, It's nice to pretend.

Finally reaching my destination I race towards the door only to be slammed against the wall as it opens. Taylor and a few other officers, both trainee and official, burst through the doorway and sprint down the hall. Taylor hears my groaning and turns around. She rolls her eyes on seeing me and scurries towards me to grab my hand. I'm dragged down the hallway along with everyone else. Either there's been a serious break in or shootings.

"Where's your shotgun?", Taylor gasps as we race.

"Shit", I exclaim.

"Danny, do we've backups?", she asks.

"Heads up", he says and tosses the weapon towards me. It bangs off of the floor and a bullet strikes the wall, just missing Taylor.

"Is she serious?", Brandon, another cop asks in a somewhat sassy tone.

"Backup, number two", Danny says and skillfully hands me yet another shotgun.

"You really should have had the safety mode on that trigger, Dan", Taylor says.

"I've learned my lesson", he sighs.

"What's going on?", I ask my fellow trainees.

"Gas station robbery. A bunch of twenty somthing year old guys made off with a bunch of alcohol in two separate cars. Some are still in the store", Taylor pants. We arrive at our cabs and pair up. "Ella, you're with me", Tay says.

"Saw that coming", Claire grins.

"Iv'e no time for your comments, Claire. Alright, Ella and I are Team A, Danny and Brandon, you're Team B. Claire, Sarah and Ryan, you're team C. Ryan, take a separate cab. We need to round these guys up as quickly as possible. Any questions?"

Ryan raises his hand. Taylor nods in his direction. "Will there be coffee after this little round up? 'Cause I skipped it this morning"

Taylor exhales, exasperated. "Yes, Ryan. You'll be drowning in it. Any other important questions? Time is of the essence here"

Nobody speaks. "Alright, let's go", Taylor says and grabs my arm, dragging me towards my cab. Everyone nods firmly and we split. Taylor grips tightly at the steering wheel, knuckles shining, and leading the way. Our sirens blare as we glide through the streets in search of the gas station and some suspicious looking "twenty something" year olds. I find the remnants of my doughnut lying in it's greasy, paper bag on the floor of the cab. Picking it up, I begin to nibble away at what's left. Taylor glares furiously in my direction and grabs the pastry, flinging it out the window.

"Aw man, that cost me five doll-"

"Focus, Ella!", Taylor yells, her cheeks beginning to burn scarlet. Her walkie-talkie crackles and buzzes. "Taylor. Over", she says, one hand carefully squeezing the steering wheel.
