A pain pulses in my stomach. Not a stabbing pain like before but a dull throbbing pain. A familiar stench insults my nostrils. What the................ weren't we down a drain. I swim up from the blackness, the last thing I remember was getting knocked out from........................what was it............... a hole in my stomach? My hand twitches, to move to my stomach, but something is pressing it down on my hand. My right hand. It is soft and is covering my whole hand. It radiates warmth. I try to open my eyes, but they must not be responding yet, or maybe they haven't woken up yet, either way they are just sitting loosely over my eyeballs.
My ears tune in to my surroundings. There is voices in the corner, are we in a room? It sounds like Jacob and Chris?, What the hell is he doing down our drain. I concentrate harder where am I?
I crane my neck and instead of feeling hard cold concrete I feel fabric. Soft, its a pillow. I try my eyes again. Still not working. I have to tell someone I am awake. I try to speak but a low croak comes out instead. I feel tension beside me. The thing over my hand squeezes on my fingers.
Suddenly I feel a warm breath on my face and boom, someone plants something wet, but soft against my lips. A Kiss. Who the hell is the person, I force my eyes again, not working. Again. The object over my hand starts to move away but I grab it and yank it towards me. I don't want to be alone, not now, not ever. I don't care who it is, I know I just want them there.
"Shit" a quite voice swears under his breath. Who is it? Jacob, no he doesn't kiss me like that he is my brother.
"Stay" I croak out, hearing my own voice like that scares me slightly.
"Of course" the person whispers back. I feel a dint in the couch where the person sits back down next to me.
"Who are you?" I croak out in a whisper, still holding the hand.
"Chace, why can't you tell" he teases a small smile spreads across my face. I yank open my eyes, not giving them time to disagree.
Chace sits on the couch next to me holding my hand. HIs hair is unkempt and he has dark circles under his eyes. HIs brown eyes pierce into mine. He looks tired.
"When was the last time you slept?"
"The night we escaped. I haven't left your bed since" a small smile appears on his lips.
I pull him closer into a hug. "Thank you, but um... wheres the others?"
He sits back.
"Jacob and Chris are in the corner. All of the boys are here too"
"But, wheres Taylor"
HIs eyes fall to the ground.
"Wel.........." I demand.
"He left yesterday to get you more medicine, you have been out for a week, he was scared you were in a coma so he went to get some drugs to snap you out."
"Since when has Taylor done anything like, mediciny?"
"I don't know, all I know is that he saved your life. You have no idea"
He looks at me shyly but awkwardly, then he calls out" Jacob she's awake!"
My brother bounds across the room, he scoops me up in a huge cuddle, lifting me off the ground.
"Owww" I groan. A pain shooting up from my 'repaired' hole.
"Oh shit, sorry forgot"
I look up at my brothers face. HE too has dark circles under his eyes and deep crevasses in his face. His eyes staring down at me are all shiny like he is about to cry. I give him a little smile and a tear falls over the lip of his eye lid.
