The tired teen walked out of UA, holding an empty coffee cup and just about done with everyone's shit. He was so sick of school, people, and just life in general. His mind flashed back to the days earlier events, which, in summary, was him being bullied for his quirk.
"Your quirk is so villainous!" One girl shuddered.
"Yeah, you even look the part," another boy sneered.
"I have no idea how someone like you got into UA!"
"So scary!"
"He's a hero?"
Small whispers and odd looks from people in the halls, and Shinsou didn't like it one bit. He had half a mind to brainwash them and make them throw themselves off a cliff, but he was a "hero," he couldn't do such a thing.
His thoughts were rudely interrupted by someone pushing him to the ground. A tall blue haired kid stood over him, smirking.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't the insomniac villain, Shit-sou. I just might have to teach you a lesson for bumping into me like that."
Shinsou sighed. Not this asshole again. He got up, picking up his mug, then tried to turn away from the boy, who, being much taller and more muscular, pulled him back down with ease. He then kicked the purple haired boy's stomach, making him groan. Shinsou curled his arms around his head, hugging his knees to his stomach. All he had to do was wait until this guy was bored, then he'd leave. He felt a blow to his shins, then footsteps, a shout, and then silence.
"Are you okay?"
Shinsou opened his eyes to see a boy with green hair standing over him, his face covered with a mask and sunglasses. The bully was lying on the ground, unconscious. Shinsou stood up and dusted himself off, ignoring the pain in his stomach.
"I'm fine."
The boy's eyes seemed to widen as he got a better look at Shinsou.
"Oh my, are you Hitoshi Shinsou? From the sports festival?"
Another fan. Dammit.
"Yes," he replied dryly. The corners of the boy's mask went up, as if he was smiling under it. Shinsou gave him a cold look, "if you've come to make fun of me for my quirk too, save your breath."
"Oh, I think you misunderstand! Most people can't see how truly amazing your quirk is, and extremely useful too! The UA staff are proof of this! I can't believe you aren't in the Hero course, such a shame on UA's part," the boy said, shaking his head. Shinsou's face softened a little. This guy didn't think he was a freak. Odd, but refreshing.
"You don't think it's villainous?"
The boy chuckled, "A quirk is only villainous if you make it villainous. Now, since I've had the pleasure of meeting you, can I treat you to a coffee?"
Shinsou grimaced, "no, I wouldn't want to inconvenience you. Besides, I have some homework I need to finish."
"Oh my, what a shame. Especially since I had an offer to make you..."
"What kind of offer?"
"Hmmm, one that would maybe gain you respect and power... but I don't know, you really don't seem like you want it..."
Shinsou glared at him, he knew this guy was trying to talk him into something stupid, but he was just so tired and frustrated that he didn't really care.
"Fine."

A few minutes later, they were sitting at a coffee shop, Shinsou sipping on a tall latte that the boy had bought for him, the boy just sitting there, waiting. Shinsou put down his cup and looked up at the boy.
"Um, thanks for the coffee, I guess."
The boy chuckles softly, "no need to thank me. Now, before I get into my offer, I want to ask you a few questions."
Shinsou raised an eyebrow, but nodded.
"Why do you want to become a hero?"
"Well... I want to help people of course, why else?"
"Are you sure there isn't... another reason?"
Shinsou stared at the boy's dark shades. Did this boy know something about him? Should he be honest? What did he have to lose?
"Okay, fine. Going through elementary and middle school, I was always intimidating to other kids, having a quirk that could so easily control them, and possibly even hurt or kill them. I want them to know that I'm someone they can trust... even if they can't trust me..."
"Do you always get bullied like that?"
"Most days, yes. But when it happens I just remember that it'll eventually go away, and I'll prove them all wrong."
"Does it ever sicken you? Make you want to hurt them back?"
Shinsou shook his head, "Stop asking me questions. Who are you anyway? Why do you care so much?"
The boy chuckled, "ah, I'm a nobody with plans to become a somebody. I'm an ambitious fellow, always have been. Once I even wanted to become a hero like you."
"So why didn't you?"
"Well... you can say I was put in your shoes, in a way. I'm quirkless, and went through hell because of it, especially since I had wanted to be a hero so badly. But that doesn't matter, at least, not anymore. I just want to make our society as perfect as possible, rid it of any people who dare pick on the innocent and weak, underestimating them, harassing them because they're too insecure about themselves."
Shinsou looked at the boy, the realization hitting him.
"So you're a villain?"
"You are a sharp one, aren't you? I don't see myself as a villain, but others might. I broke the law, so I am definitely a criminal. However, I have a legitimate reason for being who I am, you see. I don't want to hurt those who are already broken, who are in the place I once was. I simply want to get rid of all my enemies, and make this society full of happy, hardworking people. For that, I need all the help I can get. Which brings me to my offer," the boy took off the shades, revealing bright green eyes. Shinsou watched as he lowered the mask, revealing his entire face. This was the crazy kid on the news. Whatever he was planning, Shinsou couldn't get involved with it.
Deku slipped his mask back on, "will you join me on my mission to end all unworthy heroes?"
Shisou looked at him, shocked. He knew this kid was incredibly dangerous, that he probably had a gun or knife he could kill him with right now, but that made him all the more interesting. He was unpredictable, so much more different from the kid he had seen on TV.
The rational side of him said no, this was a bad idea, Deku was a villain, Shinsou was a hero, and by joining him all those bullies would be right. But a small voice at the back of his head was egging him on. Clearly this kid was doing something right if he managed to escape Endeavour.
Deku smiled again, "it's a tough decision, huh? Just think: no rules, no boundaries, and you can kill anyone who wrongs you, if that's what you please. People will respect you, fear you. No one would ever dare call you a freak again. And sure, you'd be proving them right, but they'd be the ones responsible for making you turn to us. They should know better than to harass you, especially with your power. So, whaddya say?"
In that moment, whether it was from anger, or simply the course of fate itself, Shinsou had made his decision.
"I will."
